SM4 locked!

My ecu is tuned by a vendor with a password lock. Each times when I require minor adjustment or re-tune due to mod, I got to pay extra $ and quite a distance travel to the workshop.

I insist to learn and tune myself, so I asked for the password but no luck. Out of frustration, I would rather erase my current cal/map and start from ground. Does anyone know how I could trigger the ecu in boot mode and erase the current cal, so I can store a new cal myself into the ecu?

Not sure about the Evo 7. If it were an 8 or 9 you could find your immobilzer code, and which rom you have and reflash it with a stock image. On 8's and 9's its very important to have all the info you need before you try to flash it.

Ah, I see, should have picked it up when he said it was password locked. There should be a reset either way.

That's right, I'm using Autronic SM4 (universal) with evo7 harness...

Sorry if my statement confuse you...

any autronic dealer can do that for you (erase), and also, must give you STARTING MAP. then you are on your own.

but....why do you need MINOR adjustments ALL the time, only god knows....(I can't believe you are changing cams or exhaust EVERY week, so you need retune).

I could easily get a base map to start my engine. I know any Autronic dealer can do that for me... but as I said, I want to do-it-myself. You were right, I dont change "something" every week... but there's always preference how well the idling is doing, launching, boosting and other fine-tuning. These sort of fine-tuning can never be perfect done by any tuner (since he use dyno-tune instead of road-tune). There's always room for improvement for every now and then.

Just go into the software online and choose open file and select a cal which you want to overide the existing cal with password.

Def find a new tuner. Tuners who put locks on YOUR ecu's aren't worth dealing with IMO.

Does that override the current map?

The current map is locked, how do I get around this, do I need a new base map? If so, where can I get this?
