Evo AccessPORT Beta Firmware Update...
I first used the Stage 1 93 map. Then the Stage 2 93. Never saw more than 3 knocks.
I'm now using the Stage 2 91 map but have rarely hooked up the AP since using this map. But again, I never saw more than 3 knocks when I did.
But as I stated before, I got gas at a station I'd never been to before. This was right after I updated the AP. So it could be the gas. I've filled up twice since then. I suppose I should hook the AP and see if there's a change.
Also, as I believe someone else said, the new update shows the max. knock counts registered. It's very possible this is the reason some are seeing more knocks. Unless one's eyes are glued to the AP, these max knock counts may have been missed previously.
Not to backtrack in here but......

I don't remember if you had said that the LTFT/STFT still shouldn't work with the most recent update....and to be honest I really don't care that much about it....but fyi...those are the only live date parameters that still don't work.
On to this Knock Sum issue........I do and have driven everyday since installing the AP with the knock sum open to view....when I was running the cobb stg2 91oct map for the first 2 months I rarely saw (light/part throttle) knocks above 3-5....then after the second month or so the knocks started to climb (December/Jan time) to over 10 and one point I saw a 17 count......I use the same gas all the time...and this happen over at least 3 fillups....then I reset/reflashed the map and wall-la the knocks lowered back down......I have no explanation for it but that is what happened.
I am now running a custom map....in the mornings heading down to work (going downhill) I get maybe 2-3 counts....going back home in the afternoon (uphill) in 100degree heat I am seeing 5-10 counts (all on light throttle situations)....
I do not believe that the KNOCK SUM values with this new AP update are broken at all...this seems right in line with what I have viewed from day 1 when I loaded the AP back in Oct.

Mod list exactly in line with what COBB recommends for the canned tune -
COBB SF intake
COBB 3 inch SS downpipe
Perrin 3 inch High flow Catalyst
JIC 3 inch catback slip fit exhaust
high altitude boost hose and pill assembly
Something with the calibrations or calculation has to be different - as soon as I updated it, that's when the higher counts started registering. I think it's highly unlikely I would spontaneously have some kind of hardware issue at the exact same time.
I wish Robb would elaborate on this.
I had Cobb's software with my Subaru for a couple years before I traded for the Evo. I used their Street Tuner software and it was outstanding and I never had any problems with it or the AP. Now that I have Cobb's software for my Evo, I was excited to see how different the v2 AP was from the v1 AP. I like the newq design and the USB vice serial, but I did also noticed that LTFT and STFT were always indicating 25% (which is not correct for them to be that stable). Also, the "Performance" feature does not work at all. I contacted Cobb about this and they have observed the problem on a car in their shop so they are currently working on a fix. Depending on how dificult the fix is will depend how soon a firmware update is released, but it is coming. As with any interaction I have had with Cobb Tuning, their customer service is excellent.

We have updated the firmware to fix the STFT/LTFT sticking at 25%. The new 1.2.7.0 firmware can be downloaded here.
We have verified that there is an issue with the Performance feature on the AccessPORT. We are working on a fix right now and will hopefully have a new firmware update soon.

Just got off the phone with Cobb Tuning and the fix for the Performance data and LTFT/STFT has moved to the testing phase just prior to release as a new firmware, should be pretty soon now. Completely a side note, I cannot wait for StreetTuner for theEvo to be released, it was awesome on my WRX.
Anyone From Cobb??
Thanks COBB
