New EVO IX maps
I am a fairly recent Cobb owner and I wonder why Cobb is not updating the user community when they make updates? Also, I did not dare change the AP software to the new version because of the bugs and the lack of support. At least the lack of letting the community know when fixes will be made available. My bro is the one that turned me onto the Cobb tuner as he has had it for his STI, but since Cobb has been adding more makes/models, they seem veryyyyyy slow at responding, if ever.
Also, they do not have a document detailing the "live" parameter definitions and normal versus abnormal. This to me is a key compnent of what they advertise as a whole package. It is great to have live parameters but not knowing their meanings, helps no one. Chris at Cobb told me 4 months ago they were "working" on such a document but where is it?
My 2 cents...

my .02 on some of the above would be...yes...it would be nice if more communication was available on some of the above issues....but take the live data sections for instance....most of the parameters are self explanatory and the ones that aren't are just a google search away from complete understanding...that is what I ultimately did.
I take that the first maps were ver. 1.0?
I'm sure if there was something different in the maps they would have stated that...my bet is that nothing happened

most of the time they do revisions it makes re flashes faster or they updated some of the bugs out of the AP. They update the looks of gauges or added some things in the live data section. I used to have a Subaru and had the V2.

1.01 stage 2 93 octane map fixed my boost problem.

Cobb catted turboback exhaust
Have to tell you, after the initial install of 1.00a version of stage 2 93 octane map, although CERTAINLY the car had better overall horsepower, was a little disappointed. Idle was too low, the occassional stall occurred, and even though it was better, just a little "under" what I was hoping for.
1.00b version FIXED the idle problem, but LOOKING for differences, the stock ECU ran 1.2 bar boost on the factory gauge. The 1.00b ran 1.1 But FOR SURE, the car had more power, and more usable. I didn't really care to remove the restrictor pill, because it felt so much better than stock. Took it to VIR, and had very little trouble disposing of even Porsche Cayman S's. Everything else was basically chaff in my wind.
the 1.01 version FIXED the peak boost problem. Haven't had it on track, but can most certainly tell you it is even better. VERY low end boost comes on slow, but this is certainly no worse than stock, and feels a little better.
Just encouraging anybody who is a little worried about this, but I recommend it.

I called and spoke with Chris @ Cobb earlier and he stated that the changes to the maps are to allow quicker response when protuners are making changes to the maps. No enhacements/changes where made to the maps for performance gains; the maps are no different performance wise between version 1.0 and 1.01 according to Chris.
Also, Chris stated that the documentation of the "live paramters" is a work in progess.

Also contend that it is better as well.
