Motec is not a plug and play ECU
you need to have someone that knows the software and knows what they are doing to set it up and tune on it.

Motec does not offer any base maps on thier ecu's, it needs to be set-up from scratch

goodluck

^ Motec actually does make a plug and play ECU for the EVO

It can be found here http://www.motec.com.au/pluginecus/pluginoverview/

As for base maps and such check out some Motec forums would be the best

i meant plug and play in the sense of you cant just plug it, load a base map and go... sorry, my fault i should've of explained in earlier post

motec maps need to be bult from ground up, theres no base map you can start with when you tune, thats what im talking about

No worries man. I know all of Motec ECU's used to have to be hard wired. Then they came out with the ECU that plugs directly to the factory harness.

This might sound harsh, but it's for your own good: if you have to ask for a base map, you shouldn't be the one tuning the ECU. Someone familiar with MoTeCs should be able to get the car up and idling in less than 15 minutes.

Also available amongst MoTeC’s wide range of engine management options are the discreet M800 Plug & Play systems.
These ECUs are designed as plug in boards to replace the OEM computers in a number of high performance late model
vehicles. These units provide the flexibility and performance of a MoTeC M800 ECU without the necessity of rewiring the
car or building adaptor looms.
M800 Plug & Play ECUs are built with the same options as a standard M800, though there are some limitations due to
factory plug designs. To assist with the tuning of your vehicle they can also be supplied with a start up engine map.
Currently available are:
13004A M800 OEM ECU for WRX/STi V5/6
13007A M800 OEM ECU for EVO8
13008A M800 OEM ECU for WRX/STi V78 + 2006 2lt model only (some models req. Cam Control upgrade (28116))
13012A M800 OEM ECU for WRX/STI V9/10
13009A M800 OEM ECU for EVO 4 – 8
13010A M800 OEM ECU for EVO 9 (some models require Cam Control upgrade (28116))

They must be really expensive. I went to Peru two years ago and I didn't see any evos...many STIs.
