autronic ecu's are used by many rally teams, for many reasons one of many is the superior launch control and anti lag. however one needs to be well versed in the setup gain desired results. one feature of the anti lag is to have anti lag kick on when the ecu sees a given rpm. so at a stand still you can rev the engine and anti lag will kick on for 30 secs so you can launch, but stay off while stopped at a light in traffic, when you don't necessarily want anti lag on.

I will be defiantly looking into the Evo 9 PnP unit, here in Hawaii there is supposedly a very reputable Autronic Tuner / Dealer. Justin Izumi of Izumi Racecraft..

Someone needs to get in there. That's the only thing I'm afraid of with Autronic...the customer/technical support. Aem has great support, has anyone tried Autronic since Hall left?
The same guy is in charge...Richard Aubert, he is the founder of Autronic. Ray Hall was the person that started the Mass distributing and creating new vendors, the web site, he moderated the forum, techinical support on Autronic hardware, stuff like that. Ian Hamwood, took over, a long time Autronic employee, I forget what he used to do. Autronic is a very small company, with a dedication to what they do. They don't have magazine add campaigns and you will not find there name on a car because they are sponsoring them. They just LOVE cars, bikes, boats, you name it and make some of the Highest Quality ECU's that you can buy. If you call Autronic Austrailia you can get him on the phone, no problem. Try calling the founder of AEM and get him to help you with injector settings!

I'm also an Autronic user. I actually learned how to use it at EFI 101 and fell absolutely in love with it.

I'm in the middle of my build now, but I'm going to go pretty big with it.
Mods:
2.3 stroker wit knife-edged crank, fully balanced rotating assembly
GSC S2 cams,
In-tank twin pump setup
HKS DLI2
HTA 35r turbo
1600cc injectors
etc....

Me and my 2 other friends run Autronic... all Evo 6.

Mine: SM4, MAD Spec Piper cams, AMS 35R, 2.4l, etc (10.7 on race)
Buddy1: SM4, Revolver, Green, 2l, etc (11.0 on race)
Buddy2: SMD PnP, HKS 272, Buschur 2l long block (11.5 on race)

All tuned by Mark Shead at MADevelopments. Thanks Mark!

I've spent a few minutes with AEM software. What a clunky, ugly P.O.S However it prolly gets better once you learn it properly. Autronic is slick and fast software. You map the fuel table by VE and I swear you could map the fuel table with one number and it would probably be pretty close. Also no long startup cranking and cranking. Stock like turn over or very close to it. No knock control though

Also I don't know if this says anything about the ignition outputs but I've run 41 psi on stock coils Never had any miss. Denso Iridium plugs as recommended by Mark. Had to go to a go kart store to find a place doing them online

I was using Autronic (SM3 version I believe) for a while until one of my sensors went out. I sent it in and haven't heard anything about it yet and that was basically close to a year ago now. From what I can see the unit is great but the support or lack there of is pretty poor IMO. Anyway, I made 449 whp at 21lbs. on pump with that ECU and my current set up. Now I'm running Ecuflash at 25lbs. and making pretty much the same if not a tad bit more it would seem. I think with Autronic you can control the timing and fuel better than you can with the AEM system.

Send a mail to Ian Hamwood (customer@autronic.com.au), and ask him what's gong on. He's extremely responsive.

You can also call him /\ 01161407917269 can be a little pricey if you don't have international calling. He is also a little hard to understand sometimes.
