AEM Tru boost question

Anyone familiar with this product please help...before i installed the tru boost I was getting about 22lbs, now that i've installed it and set the duty cycle for setting A to just about the same 22lbs, its doesnt come on boost as hard as it used to. I figured it had something to do with the initial wastegate spring setting which I have set at 11psi, but I know the manual says that that setting can be adjusted to reduced spikes and spool up time. Is there something i'm doing wrong?

When setting A or B, you are setting the wastegate DUTY CYCLE %, not the psi you want it to hole. For example I have to set my duty cycle to 40% to get 14psi, and about every 5% gives me another 2psi. That was the hardest thing for me to figure out when setting mine up. You need to up the duty cycle to 35 and see where the boost gets, then work your way up to 22PSI

no the duty cycle is set already, its somewhere around 44 and i am getting 22lbs, but its how it comes on boost is different, its more tame getting up there. What did u set your wastegate spring value at?

I have an external wastegate, and my spring crack is set to 6-7 or so. Try raisin it if your boost is coming on slow. I'm really no expert, AEM has forums dedicated to their stuff and it was very helpful when I was setting up. I really can't explain why your boost is building slower, but you're most likely on the right track working with that spring pressure issue.

thanks...it was the spring crack pressure, when I set it to a higher value, it comes on boost harder but spikes more and bleeds off more too, at a lower value, it doesn't come on as hard, but when it does hit full boost it stays there longer and bleeds off less. I guess I just have to set it where i"m comfortable with it.
