Its techincally a "piggyback" but leans more to being an EMS with OBD functionality, meaning you maintain stock like driving and emmission standards.

However, it can only be tuned by HKS "certified dealers"

o0o. ic. so basically it's street legal, but then you need to find a shop tht's a hks certified dealer. so it has its ups and downs.

Yeah, I would chose it over the AEM if "I" could tune it myself. The thing from what I read runs just like the stock ecu.

But also the HKS Dealer can allow you to make adjustments yourself also by unlocking certain maps.

The only dealer I know of close to NY that I would chose is Sean Ivey.

its a very good system and alot of people prefer it over the aem ems which in fact both a great systems but the downside of the hks is that there is a limited amount of people that tune it and like^ said you have to be an hks certified dealer to tune it

Fcon Vpro is Not a piggyback. It is ony wired along with the stock ecu to maintain things like the immobilizer.
It can run without the stock ecu if you want to wire it that way.

In an evo with the PNP harness all fueling/timing functions are controlled by the VPRO. **** I went 9.45@153 with the stock ecu and fcon in my evo.
