UTEC Help!

I bought my 2005 Evo 8 with a UTEC already installed and tuned. I tried loading the software, following all of the directions, onto my laptop. I can get to the UTEC basic screen but its not showing anything when I try to look at the settings or try to log data.. Whats wrong? Could someone walk me through the setup process? I really need to know whats going on with my car, its running full rich all the time and its not an 02 or MAF problem

make sure your using hyperterminal...
i tried to use an equivalent one time and it didnt work at all the same

could be a connection/communication issue between your laptop and the Utec. Make sure that you have the hyperterminal setup properly, check your com port settings and also if you are using a serial-to-usb connection make sure that the software is properly loaded and the drivers are right, I switch between a Belkin USB/serial converter and a generic one and whenever I do that, it usually takes a few tries before I can connect to the Utec properly. Are you getting a blank white colored screen in Hyperterminal?

Since the UTEC only has a serial port for access, you'll need something like a Keyspan adapter. I think I used the USA 19W model successfully.

If you are on a PC you will likely need the drivers for whatever USB/Serial "adapter" that you end up using, so that your USB adapter can communicate with the serial connection.

Then typically you can follow the rest of the rest of the directions from there.

I had issues in the Mac OS 10.4. I don't recall if I had Windows XP issues, and Vista might be another story as well.
