evo9 with idle and other problems
So I build a STI9(580whp) and the evo guys said that should be named a slowbaru and that evos are the real deal...
So I bought a evo9 MR
Got the following installed....
2.2 stroker
magnus intake v5
1250cc FIC for E50
BBK full
AMS intercooler
fuelab fpr
272/272 kelford cams
walbroke 255
Then the car had problems with idle and surge...and the tuning shop said that its because of the stock ecu with the MAF...
Then I bought a Haltech PS2000 plug and play for the evo9 as suggested by the builder.
And now I am still sitting with the bulk of the issues.
What I have found is that the AFR's will change on idle...even with the injector times set the same value. I will get the car to 93-94 deg C water temp, and then adjust the afr till it idles to my liking. 11.5:1(E50) I will be all happy...take it for a drive and then the AFR's will change...going to 12.7-13 and then it idles very badly.
I checked it 10 time and it keeps on doing it....
WHY? have anyone else had spooky AFR's?
I struggle to tune idle and some general fuel maps

I found the problem.... and some other guys also had the same issue...
The cam shaft sensor cylinder trigger wheel on the exhaust cam at the back of the engine can be installed 2 ways,180 deg out....that was what was causing the problem.... turned it around like the show in the workshop manual and it is fixed up!
So much for pro engine builder...lol
