Question Key Code - Immobilizer Code

Well, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but two or so years back I lost the immobilizer code for my ecu. It's a long story and I've been using a blank code in its place since. I was wondering if I have the Key Code which I have in position; it is possible for the dealer or anyone with MUT to identify the immobilizer number if I order a new key (using my vin# and key code)? This assumes that the key code identifies the key cut and the immobilizer number would therefore be programmed to the key when it arrives. Or is the key code just a code that corresponds to the key cut but not the immobilizer number which has to be read off the ECU? Hope this make sense, thanks!

I did a search but I was unable to decipher a clear answer to these questions.
