can i bypass the immobilizer on my '06 MR?

i have a plethora of other theft-deterrent devices.. and i need to bypass the immobilizer to get my turbo timer working.

can it be done? i thought there was a hex code i could put in place of my imm. code? if so, please PM me.

my other option is to buy a key, have it coded.. then wire it to the car... either way, the immob. is bypassed.. i'd rather just do it with the ecu.

i did a lengthy search... to no avail.. so many conflicting opinions.

yes, it's in the periphery bits; all you have to do is use ECUFlash and a cable to disable it.

Did that. Wouldn't it have been just as easy to tell me? Lol

Guess I'll keep searching till I find it or someone is kind enough to help.

You have to edit the ECU periphery bits (FAA) and disable bit 3 (usualy it says disable immobiliser)

In periphery 0, right? I have it set to 56D0. From what I understand, that disables my rear O2 and immob.

Sweet. I was right. You, sir, are the man. Thank you!
Bypass works perfectly.

Why do you need to bypass the immobilizer for your turbo timer?

Indeed.

To the OP, what timer is this? I guess maybe it depends on the timer, but with the Apexi I one I have it was fine. Some aftermarket alarms don't like seeing the engine on and I haven't gotten around that but curious about this timer....

it's actually part of my alarm. my car has remote start as well as a turbo timer. but the key has to be in the ignition for the car to start/run. thus, i was unable to use either. now that i disabled it, i was able to program both options of my alarm. i shoulda' clarified. haha.
i was mostly doing this to get my turbo timer option.. but as a bonus i remembered: "duh. i can do remote start too!". in the 105* heat as well as 35* winter.. remote start is a blessing.
oh. and i get to use any key i want for backup! even a super-sexy-uber jay-dee-em key.

i have many other theft deterrent devices. the immobilizer was kinda not needed anyway.

to disable the immobilizer is it FAA bit 2 or bit 3? I always though it was bit 3, however, in the wiki it is showing up as bit 2 (the third bit but not bit 3). Maybe the wiki needs to be updated or i am wrong? the default for bit 2 (the third bit) is 0 where i would think it would be 1 for enabled.

I'd have to check. Can't remember off the top of my head. Hopefully I saved it. I'll try to remember to look. I'm at work, on my phone right now. Shoot me a PM, as a reminder, if ya want.
