Immobilizer Code lost – Where or who can retrieve this for me?

Ok, as some you have seen in my other posting my ECU was corrupted and I lost my immobilizer number. My friend and I were able to finally get the car running but we had to disable the immobilizer. I would like to enable the immobilizer again but I need help finding the code. Would the dealer be able to tell me the code if I have my key code or do they need my VIN#? Is there any other way to get this number?

Thank you to everyone for all your help! I’ve gotten quite a few emails and PM's helping me through this, not to mention Lan Evo mr9 who got my car running!

I dont think you can get the code other than looking at your rom, which i know you cant do now. But I may be wrong.

I sure hope that's not the case If I could even get my hand on possible options, I just keep loading flashes until I find it.

If you need to drive the car, FFFF disables the immobilizer.

Data recovery.

Have a data recovery shop have a go at your old hard drive (friends hard drive?) If they're good they might be able to locate the xml with the id in it. Or at least the hex or bin files.

NTFS is NTFS for a reason. It's hard to destroy data completely on an NTFS system.

Depending upon how long it takes, shop rates are 60 to 80 an hour.

Just disable the immobilizer at this point until you find a fix.

So he doesn't have it stored in his old rom? I know the ecu was corrupted during a flash, however, the computer and email files that had it backed up?

I think you may be flashing a while as someone figured out there is something like 96000 possible immobilizer codes.

You need to find/make a buddy with a mitsu scan unit. You can set whatever immobilizer you want to the ECU and have them program the key to match.

Thanks to everyone again! I talked to another friend of mind who has done tons of flashes (works at a local shop) and he told me that the dealer can always up load the original factory flash with the immobilizer by using the VIN#. This would be a fresh start... if I can find someone near Rockville, Maryland with mitsu scan that that would be even better! I'd be willing to compensate anyone!

gsrboi80 - thanks again!
