2.0(4g63) vs 2.4(4g64)

Hey guys,

I'm just trying to get an idea how much timing differs between the two engines.

Lets say they are both built and both have the same turbo. For the sake of discussion we will limit our selves to pump gas.

Looking for input from people who have tuned both.

Thanks

I would assume all things being kept equal - more of the difference will be dependent upon cam selection. Strokers thrive on a longer +1mm duration to help fill cylinders as the rpm's increase.

So if you were to take identical motors, with the only difference being one was a 2.0, and one a 2.4. Your going to see more power fall off quicker in the RPM's with the 2.4 because of the cam requirement. And a greater load being put on the turbo. However I am willing to bet the timing will actually be about the same(peak tq and redline etc, not always same at both RPM's) - Just different resulting numbers.
