Broke the evo :(

So i was coming back from the bar the other night and i was boosting roughly around 22 pounds of boost then boost cut and the engine start slowly dying down it self so i pulled over and soon enough it dies.. and it keeps on dying so i drove it home roughly 5 blocks? (misfiring the whole time ) and now when i start it its running very rich sounds like im running cams (the misfiring) and the keep sounds like it wants to die out... plugs are burnt smells like gas help!!!!! fellow evom members!

Along the lines im thinking with the help of my friends its either the head gasket or the coil packs has jumped sparks and gone bad... i've checked the maf its on tight... im posting because i want to know if this happened to anyone else? and knows almost exactly is wrong with it... thanks:hel pme::helpm e:

To me it sounds like you blew a I/C pipe off...but thats pretty easy to see. Any noise or anything when it happened other than just suddenly dying? Usually a coupler or hose will let off a pretty loud pop/bang sound.

Since you have checked the plugs, do a compression test and leakdown if you can.

Also check that any of the hoses behind the MAF sensor are all tight. Upper pipe,Intercooler pipes, lower, etc.

he is right above mine did this once when i blew off a pipe and when i installed my first manifold it was not on striaght and it did the same thing. I would check the coil pack to be honest as well. i mean you only other thing you could do is do leakdown test and boost leak test of course

Agreed happens pretty frequently on stock piping running higher boost.

If you get a real good one the first time it happens you let a little s**t out it scares you so bad didnt happen to me till i started getting above 24... not on stock piping though...if you are on stock piping/stock clamps this will very easily happen.

as far as noise didnt sound like anything popped off just hitting the break wall with the boost cut but ill double check and while it was dying down only noise was the misfiring... which i worried about but idk i gota double check everything
