evosevengsr it sounds like you need the D-Jetro that converts it to a MAP setup.

but i have one more question.
can i get the L-jetro version and convert it some other way to a MAP setup?
reason being cause a guy down here is selling his L-jetro for a reallll good price.
or is it not worth it?

Not sure about that conversion. I would ask Guru or SilverSurfer they should know the answer to the more tech. questions.

From what I understand the D-jetro and L-jetro have different hardware and there is no kit/instructions to convert one to the other.
For the amount of power your looking for (“10 sec car”) you will probably have difficulty flowing that much air through the stock MAF sensor. You might be able to use a larger MAF sensor, but since we have not seen any one do this yet there may be other unforeseen issues. In particular I am wondering about airflow measurement accuracy at those levels, especially with an unknown MAF sensor. A speed density system like the D-jetro would be more straight forward (less potential complications). You’re probably better off going speed density at that level.
To get into the 10's I would imagine you would need close to 600WHP. A two liter four cylinder making that kind of power would be pretty radical IMO. The question of whether it is street able would be left up to your interpretation street able.

Well said silversurfer on the interpretation of "streetable".
We'll see this spring how the D-Jetro does with a upgraded turbo, etc...

YOu can not convert it. The D-Jetro version is a completely different ECU. If you want to do it do it right the first time out and get a D-Jetro. It's well work the added $500.

My question is similar to PDXevo's. regarding the brake systems; Does the FC allow for the ABS system to be disabled?

also, does it allow for adjustments to be made to the traction control system?

Stand alone ECU's do not affect the ABS in any way.

From driving on road courses with the Power FC I can tell you that the ABS works no differently with a standalone ECU. I have a friend running the Autronic and his also works the same regarding the ABS/brakes. There is also no ABS adjustments available with either of these stand alone ECU's.
While I have not actually looked at the ABS control circuit, the above fact leads me to believe that the ABS is controlled by a completely seperate system.

Well, I was kinda hoping that the FC would give me the option to adjust the ABS and Traction control systems but if you think these systems are controlled by another unit all together, good stuff. I'll talk to a mechanic I know and trust and see if he has time to give it a look and see if he can find the unit.

I like what I have heard about the FC and it looks like a good buy. besides, I live in SoCal and an FC shop is about an hour away.

Thanks for replying so fast Silver Surfer. I appreciate it.

The APEXI replaces your factory ECU like the AEM. My understanding is the Exede is a piggy back. My local tuner prefers the APEXI because he says it is easier to tune than the AEM. I also think the AEM is a little more $ than the APEXI.

give XS Engineering a call for any APEXi Power FC questions.. they have tuned many cars with the FC on it and have basemaps for almost all modifications..

they can ship you a pre-programmed ecu to your door...
