I'm reading this thread now, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...9694011-a.html, and it's the same thing about swapping from 96940011 to 96530006. Why did you say that you don't like the 96530006 ROM?
I just dont like the 9653 ROM because whenever I tried to used it on a car, it took more messing with to get running right then the 9417 ROM. I think it may have to do with it being a EDM ROM.

When the community was first looking for a universal ROM for the evo 8s, so that they didnt have to develop patches for every ROM and find all the table in every ROM, they picked the 9653 ROM since it came from an '05/ACD equipped car.

But now it seem that the 9417 ROM is more so the universal evo 8 ROM. It loads and run good, right out the box. And I have tested it on 05/ACD cars and it works fine.

Ok cool. I spent a large chunk of the day reasearching and I decided to go with the Tephra V7 94170715 ROM. I downloaded ECUflash 1.43 (I have been using 1.29 with my evoscan 1.3u cable). I put in my immobilizer code and changed the timing and AFR tables to match mine (the tabels are huge in v7 so I couldn't copy and paste). Then I used evoscan to flash my modified v7 ROM to the ECU and it started up on the first try. I am going to change my oil now (that was my main goal for today, lol) and if I have time before work (not likely) I will drive it around and make sure everything is working correctly and if so log a pull and see if the MapTracer will now work (which is the reason I am doing all this ECU stuff). Thakns so much for the help and I will be posting back tomorrow with the results!

there is a bigmap translator tool that you can use to convert small maps to big maps.

cheers

That would have been nice to know before entering everything in manually!! Lol! Thanks for the tip, this may come in handy in the future.

I drove the car to work this afternoon and everything felt 100% normal. I'm hoping to log a pull tomorrow an experiment with MapTracer again.

Glad to hear you got every thing working. Having the ability to turn off certain cel's or the help with emissions are excellent features to have. Not to mention the smoothness of the big maps. It took some convincing to get Tephra to make a version for the 9417 rom.

Yep. And I gave him an additional donation to convince him to do it.

Ok, the only issue I have had so far is my idle dipping down too low at idle, causing my oil pressure light to come on. I am adjusting the BISS to hopefull fix this.

On to Map Tracer. I logged a pull today and attemped to Map Trace it. No go. I loaded my current V7 ROM and loaded the log. The tables are now correct, which is a step in the correct direction, but it still doesn't trace anything. I am ising Engine RPM and Load MUT 2byte for the table axis, which are both being logged. I have tried all the other options just to make sure to no avail.

The actual Map Tracer is the only thing that isnt working. All of the panels below the Map Tracer work. The dyno shows the horsepower and torque from the log, the AFR and Knock are dispalyed next (I can't log boost yet), and at the bottom the graph responds to all the inputs that I select.

Here are some screen shots. It is something I am missing?

How to track the cells being used with evoscan-screenhunter_06-aug.-07-20.58.jpg

Nothing populates on the Map Tracer.

Yet everything populates on the graph.

When adjusting the BISS, make sure to use EvoScan to put the car in BISS adjust mode.

On the maptracer, sometimes it can be buggy like your experiencing. You may wanna try 2.7 or 2.8, as the map tracer was different and may work for you.

This is kinda what I was talking about before. You will need to redundantly reload your log first once in map tracer (the first time it makes you select a log doesnt work) at this point no data will be shown. Then load you rom in map tracer. The rom and data should then both show up.

What is your mod list? Have you adjusted target idle?

Yes I was using the BISS adjust mode to take control away from the ECU/ISC. I set it at 850 which is stock. I will try an older version of evoscan.

3" TBE w/ HFC, K&N filter with Injen intake pipe, Evo 9 BOV recirculated. Stock turbo and boost. I have not adjusted the target idle, should I bump it up a little?

I just downloaded and tried EvoScan v. 2.80005 and it does the same thing, loads my tables, but won't track anyting. When I select "Load ROM" I select the actual ROM that is loaded on my car. I have tried selecting the XML file too (I do have them both in the same ROMS folder) and it says "XML for this ROM file can not be found, would you like to manually select it?". It does the same thing on v. 2.9.

You are downloading the log before the rom once in the program. Not including the first time you go to map tracer and makes you select you log right? The log is selected the same spot as the rom.

It should help. Depending on where it is already set, especially for the ac.

Step by step, see if I am missing anyting.
I open evoscan 2.8.
I click on Graphs and Map Tracer at the top and select Map Tracer.
Map Tracer window opens with a blank grey area where my tables go, but the actual Tracer are is there but just too small.
I right click in the center of the window and select load ROM.
I select my ROM, the one that is flashed to my ECU.
My tables load in MapTracer and the Tracer winow expands to fit my logs.
I right click in the center of the window and select load Log.
I select my log, the one that I did yesterday with that same ROM.
This is where it gets weird. After I do that the actual Map Tracer scren gets small again, way too small for my log. The RPMs go 0-8,000 and load goes 0-100. On my log and on my table below it the RPMs go 500-11,000 and load goes 10-350.
If I reload my ROM the tracer winodw rexpands to 500-11,000 and 10-350.
I tired several times but everytime I load the log the tracer table shrinks.

Add in the bold portion. It is weird but after entering maptracer you have to reload the log then the rom.

I just tried it again to no avail. I tried it over and over again, load rom, load log, load rom, load log, load rom, load log, etc. It is weird though because it is changing the size of the tracer screen everytime I load something. Something isn't right.
