Noise and Vibration

Just had the timeing belt replaced on my 03 EVO IIIV and there is a low humming noise and a slight vibration as the turbo spools. The mechanic sais he mistakenly erased the ECU while doing the work on the car. He claims that the noise and vibration is from the ECU reflash. He says that he did some upgrades to the setup. The car idles fine and runs good, any thoughts?

My first thought was the balancer shaft off a tooth or so, but they claim it's not.

If its off a tooth car would run like crap and miss. Humming noise is caused by the timing belt to tight bro, vibrations can be the harmonic balancer.

Ok, so if everything is lined correctly except the balancer shaft it will still miss and run rough?

Another trip to shop, another wasted day. The shop claims the timing belt is fine, car still vibrates. Time to find someone else to look at it.

Whine = balacne belt too tight
Vibration = forward balance shaft 180 degrees out
