How much timing can I take out to get cam lope?

I have hks 272 cams and can barely hear them. Idle is at 900 and timing up to 40 load is 5 degrees. My GSX used to have very noticeable cam lope also with HKS 272s with even a slightly higher idle. How much timing can I pull before I start running into issues? The way the car is now it runs great, doesn't stall or dip down and idle is smooth but I can barely hear the cams. Can I drop it down to 3-4 degrees?

Retard the Ex and advance the In to increase overlap if you must have lope. IMHO you should be happy you don't have any problems with idle and leave it alone

Well I was actually referring to ignition timing. I do not have adjustable gears installed. Thanks.

I haven't messed with anything since the last post but I did notice the car will lope if I perform a hot restart after coming out of a store for example, but once I start driving it again it goes away and never does it again. It almost slowly idle creeps when coming up to stop lights and sitting there and after waiting for about 30 seconds or so it drops back down to normal rpm but doesn't lope. Ideas?

Get into the MIVEC and drop the lift in the cells as well. Set idle to 850rpms. That should make you bang the ground some. Timing at 5 should do the trick.
