Degreeing cams confusion

Ok, I have searched and searched. I have asked a couple of evo tuners and gotten very short, non-specific answers. I have a 4G64 bottom end, 4G63 head, 4G64 timing belt (92 galant dohc), 2.1L long rod build. I need to degree my cams and found some info on what direction to degree them but not sure how much. Here's the info that I found but any advice is appreciated!

what are you trying to accomplish?
the cam cards should tell you the icl/ecl that they were designed to be run at.
outside of that, choosing a centerline adjustment isnt really something a forum can help you with much.

I have found forms saying that using 4g63 cam gears you are suppose to advance or retard the gears a half a tooth or 3.75 deg to get the timing correct then degree the cams from there. I have read several forums noone can give a straight answer. do i advance booth gears 3.75 degrees or just intake, just exhaust? etc.

You cant guess this stuff and you cant find it on a forum. You need to find and then determine tdc of the #1 piston and then base cam settings off of that. There is no other way to get it rt. With any luck you didn't put this together already, if you did you can take it back apart--ie remove the head or if you can rig a tool and a dial indicator and drop the leg down the spark plug hole--then you might have a chance, this and a degree wheel. goodluck
