o.k., i bumped up the TPS value to 35. It is way better than before but i get one big miss when it transitions. What would happen if you set it to 0 so there is no transition??? One more question, in the timing, i see the number my ecu would run and i see the UTEC corrected number. If my ECU says it would run 18 degrees and the utec says 12 (hypotheticle) can i use this as a guide to bump up the UTEC's timing??? Ray

2. Can you log the section that causes the hesitation for me?
3. If the stock ECU would run a lot more timing in a given load site you might want to try adding a degree or so just to see what you can get away with.

Yeah I noticed the same thing.. Its either the timing being different than stock at the transition point, or the MAF sensor's value jumping suddenly at the transition point..
I'm finding the same thing happens, and at 33% its not that bad since it will happen rarely in daily part throttle driving..
Possibly a revision to the FLASH to "blend" the values at the transition point so the MAF sensor and timing don't suddenly change?

Possibly smoothing out your transitions between open and closed loop will fix it. We used to see this issue withe wrx until we got them used to smoothing of the maps. From the 0 percent column to 100. Especially the 0 column which is the closed loop portion controls.

I think my car's ECU is tuned more aggressively than other cars by virtue of how different the car runs compared to others.
I did notice that my car has a stumble (even stock) at about 5000 rpm and I haven't been able to get a good capture of it other than there's absolutely no knock.. I suspect its time to change my plugs again or my stock DV is leaking boost causing it to feel like its stumbling when it blows off slightly (again I can't see anything I can just feel it)

I have the same hesitation/stumble here too.
My Utec came with TPS set to 35% and the hesitation/stumble was pretty noticeable. I lower it to 33% and it does seems to help a bit but it's still there. One time I even got a knock count (CEL flash) right when I step on the gas paddle to give it more gas during take off.

your getting the stumble because when it switches over from your stock ECU to the UTEC, the values between the two are slightly different (in my case its timing) if you look at your map, compare the ECU lines where your TPS Just transitions over from 30% or so.. I was told to try to adjust the map for the first load site so the timing and fuel is closer to what you see stock, this way it will transition smoother and won't be as noticable.. (Lower RPM's and low Load cells)
I've noticed that when you look at when you get stumbling, there's a significant difference in the ECU's desired timing, and the modified timing.. hence stumble.. I didn't see a dramatic change in MAF readings (modified vs stock) that could be interpretted as an interruption in the signal..
"rraulston" Your knock events looks like you are running too much timing in that load zone. Looks like it starts here:

Notice that the ecu is only wanting to run 6.8 degrees timing. The look at the logs after that the UTEC timing stays at +8 but the ecu wants to run WAY less. Big sign that you are close to knock. Shame we can't see what boost you were running at that point. It's great that you have the WB, nice to be able to see AFR in the logs. Thats why I say your knock is timing created.
Remove some timing in those load zones.

i have had no knock all along and now this partial load knock. I think when i topped off at a generic station yesterday might have somthing to do with it. Ill be purging the tank and trying again. Also was a hot day yesterday.
Possibly, but keep in mind that you were probably tuning for WOT runs and not logging continuously and watching for part throttle drivability and the load sites related to it..
Ok, let me try to clarify what I mean.. With your aftermarket exhaust, and (possibly if you have one) an aftermarket air filter, the turbo will hit peak boost at part throttle, in some cases needing slightly more fuel or a bit of timing adjustment that is in some conditions, significantly different than your WOT conditions..
Now that you have your WOT stuff dialed in, your going to have to adjust your drivability, you might want to adjust the boost to be a bit lower (18psi or so) to significantly lower at much lower TPS values (lower load sites) it has advantages in drivability and fuel mileage too..
Part throttle under boost means that you may find that the DV (BOV) may be in a partial state of being open, lowering the boost will help that at part throttle because it won't force the valve open as often when the boost drops (but doesn't quite fall into a vacuum state)
