Check engine Light. Misfire on Cold start! HELP PLZ!

I just found an Evo Ix se for a great price. Decent Miles. Full build by CBRD. Transmission and diff Built. Car in great shape. But i asked the guy to be honest with me and tell me any issues it has.

He told me that sometimes the cams will trigger a check engine light for misfire from a cold start. Is this a Huge red flag and i should bail? Or is this an easy fix. Id appreciate info from somebody who truly Knows! I don't want to lose out on a possible great car. But i only have one shot at this and want to make the right choice. So I figured id ask you guys! Hoping somebody responds soon! Thank you!

Keep in mind the car is fully built!

I'm on stock cams and get this sometimes and I believe others do to. Most just turn off p0300 in the rom but I'm trying to figure out what causes it.

This car has Gsc S2's with a fully built block and CBRD BBK Full turbo setup. I know misfires can be one of many things. The problem with this car is that the guy didnt get to drive it enough. So it may have sat for a decent amount of time here and there. Just wondering if any1 has had misfire on cold start that seems to smooth out when warmed up. How did you fix it ect.

My front o2 sensor finally crapped out enough to make the cel come on but I think it's been slowly going out since my mpg has dropped lately. Anyways, I just replaced the front o2 and when I went to start up it didn't do the misfire it usually does when cold like you describe. I'm not sure if the car wasn't cold enough but I'll see what happens in the morning. I'm hoping this solved the problem for me but we will see.

Edit: still does the misfire on cold starts.

Turns out its a known issue with the ECU. They had a recall for it. Atleast in my case. But since my ECU is flashed i dont want to bring it in and lose my Tune.

Did they give any detail on it? I've been messing with every setting possible in the ECU and can't seem to figure it out.
