Damn I'm Happy
I love Axis Power Racing. I love the UTEC. I love the EVO.
O.K., now that i've calmed down, Ron over @ http://www.axispowerracing.net/ tuned my EVO again tonight. It was running stupid w/ my rs intake, so the stocker went back on. I put down 258.9 on his Dyno Dynamics machine last time, and was able to run a 12.726 1/4 mile last night. I believe the correction multiplier on that machine is 1.17. Here are my graphs from tonight. Did I mention that I love the UTEC and Axis? Ron will make your car fast, faster, and faster.
Horsepower and Torque
Boost and A/F
MODS:
UTEC
255 Pump
Tein Flex Coilovers
HKS GD Max Clutch/Flywheel
RMR Downpipe
Pruven Test Pipe
HKS Hi-Power Cat Back
Blitz DTT

Very nice! That should make for a fun car at the strip with the launch control and flat-shift enabled. If you haven’t turned launch control on I highly suggest you try at least the flat-shift feature at the track if you are looking to pick up a few tenths.
If you add a MAP sensor to the car and tune the UTEC's boost control using the closed loop boost option I think you can smooth out that boost curve quite a bit. Other then that, the UTEC tune looks very good. I can't get over how lean you can run these EVOs. I've spent too much time behind the laptop tuning Ej205s.

Our dyno dynamics reads quite low. I mean with 259whp he ran 12.7s.
Throw the thing on a dynojet if you want a larger ego.
O well.

I agree, your mph is where you'll see how much power you have. Every dyno reads different. It also depends on what a/f he was tuned to. Better to tune it a bit on the rich side than be a bit too lean. I personally wouldn't go any leaner than 11.5.1 on the dyno. As soon as your under load on the street your gonna run 12.0.1. Any leaner may not be advisable. You may ping.
Congrats on the times! What was your 60'?

nice...yeah the dyno's are different im sure his reads a little low. in any event my PE1820'd wrx did 305.8 on the same dyno i just got 318.56 on. with just the bolt ons untuned i had 277 so either way i gained 50 HP no matter how you look at it, and its faster than my previous car for much less

Thanks Nathan. I haven't tried the launch control yet. How do I get the clutch switch for flat-shift? Also, do you guys have a MAP sensor for the EVO for sale? Ron was also amazed at how lean we are running w/ no det. I love it.
Peace,
Jeremy

You don't need the clutch switch to use launch control on the EVO. The UTEC makes use of the stock clutch switch and doesn't require any additional wiring. Just turn the launch control on in software. I highly recommend you read the notes on launch control in the back of the UTEC manual though.
Nice job to the guys at Axis. 286 is very strong for that dyno.
