Need a good tuner

Im from El Paso tx I have a 2003 Evo 8 with a Buschur 2.3l 6466 etc.... Im on proefi 128 and was making 870hp before engine failure . I'm looking for a good tuner who will stand behind his work and do things the right way without rushing or just trying to get my car out for " big money clients " . I've invested a lot into this car and just need a tune . Lmk who you all think you can recommend. There's nobody in El Paso I think i would consider using so Im willing to travel . I'm not Looking for any remote tunes either . I've had a scketchy experience with jms racing in San Antonio they left a bad taste in my mouth . Thank in advance guys .

Why not have the car sent to a shop who Specializes in tuning the Evolution. Your Engine builder for one.

What sort of engine failure?

A blown headgasket is the norm for that sort of power level.

You want more power?

I know you said you are not interested in a remote tune, but I have read enough about Tom @ Tscompusa to know he does good work. I tried to get in touch with him multiple times but was never able to seal a deal. Many others have had great experiences.

Not true at all. I've tuned likely 1000 4g63 and never had a headgasket blow during a tuning session ever.

The 4g63 has excellent gasket sealing. The only gasket that is easy to compromise is if the car has a 87mm bore like a 2.4 /w .020 over etc.

Blowing headgaskets is very rare with the Evo with a good tuner.

Um.....

Anyway...If you are reconsidering email tunes, The tuner in my signature is always willing to talk, doesn't keep you waiting, and doesn't rush you through the door. I know your original post days no email tuning, but it looks like you are now open to the possibility?
I have recommended Gary many times and always get a positive response when they follow through.

if I misunderstood your later posts, then never mind and good luck.

remote tuners can work quirks through poorly built cars as long as they have time.

jms has a lot of good cars in that part of the country

I'm not saying otherwise, just that OP expressly stated he will not deal with JMS.

A 2.3 liter has a recommended limitation on rpm, not whp. It also has more to do with which internals you go with.
