Evo 9 Turbo installed and hot boi tune questions
Hi My guys.
I have installed my E9 turbo into my E8.
runs lovely. Previously road tuned for 224kw on the E8 turbo.
I have since installed a freer flowing dump/front pipe as well.
Can you please tell me what I should be looking at with the tables for fueling and ignition timing?
Is it a case of applying some new parameters from another persons tune or must I start a fresh?
Thanks guys, looking fwd to some constructive responses.
Also instead of starting new thread, can someone please post up what -timing numbers i need to use to gain the after run pops and bangs
I have already tried going -16 to -14 on the higher rpm low loads tables w/out any differences noticed.
Apart from the Hi-octane timing values, was there any other parameters I was supposed to adjust????
thanks guys.

One last question guys.
I made some changes in the maps, ignition and fuel hi oct tables and I think I wrote them to the ecu.
but when I ran evoscan and checked the live tables for the ignition for example, it doesn't reflect the changes I thought I made.
still the old VALUES
I am a total noob with this and I wonder if I'm supposed to load an xml file as well??? seem to see lots of people referring to them when they make changes
or do I just change the values on the tables and write them? So far it doesn't look like anything has actually changed.
sorry for the dumb questions but it just seems like the changes aren't happening.
SO just to be clear, apart from changing the values in the tables and then hitting the "write to ECU" button, is there anything else I need to press or add/include.
Like i mentioned before I see a lot of xml files being asked for etc when people tune.
Please feel free to dumb it down as much as you think is needed I wont be offended.
thanks for your help.

Just reading as many posts all over the place, almost midnight here. So if i change the values in the ignition tables and write the table to the rom, for example, pops and bangs tune. Am i also supposed to input an xml file of some sort?
So confused now.
Please help guys.

i guess you have to start from the beginning and research how to use the ecuflash first.
you can read out what is currently on the ecu and compare it to your edited values. if they are the same then obviously they have been written successfully in.
regarding the better flowing exhaust, it is not going to affect anything on your engine management.

For evoscan, you will need to load the correct file to see the updated maps. You can right click on the live timing map and select read from ROM. That's the easiest way.
As for pops and bangs, you will not be able to go further than -10 degrees unless you modify the lower timing limit. 9653 has this feature, 9417 has a patch (or vise versa, Its early)

This is what I was looking for. Very helpful.
Wasn't aware of the right-clicking on the live timing map. Cheers.
As for the patch comments, I am totally lost. Its something I will need to research but I think I will ask a tuner to do these things.
Thanks again, that was a great little tid bit of info. Have a great weekend
