TurboXS DTEC

Well it seems TurboXS has outdone themselves... again...

I was browsing through the lastest edition (Oct 2004) when I came across page 61. The introduction of the TXS Dtec (Data Transfer Engine Console) . We have all probably seen the tuner pro with the interaction of the gameboy advance at some time or another. The problem with any articles you could find is that there was no "real" description of how the gameboy was going to interact with the UTEC and or Tuner. Well the wait is over.

Here is the link to TurboXS's information on the DTEC

http://www.turboxs.com/Dtec/dtec.shtml

I read all the information available, and then decided to contact Jermaine at TurboXS. This unit will have multiple displays (with the purchase of the required sensors), logging capabilities, and even, are you ready for this, tuning capabilities. You can leave the laptop at home!!! Of course, you can't see full screen maps, but if you want to tweak a few points, the DTEC is the way to go.

I told Jermaine I would start a thread on the forum.... so lets see where this goes. Read up on the DTEC from the provided link, and post your questions here, so that TurboXS can follow up with some answers.

This will be a great addition to anyone who, like myself, has the UTEC and the Tuner Pro.

If I had a gameboy in my car I probably would play it more than log with it That is cool so is the interface with the UTEC available yet? I wonder how long it is going to be before MJ makes a digital dash for it That would be nice might have to pay him a couple $ for that one. Could it be set to make a sound when you pass a point(such as to high EGT or such)? That would be the coolest thing ever. I have to keep my eyes on the road when I am driving Dang there is so much crap I want.

My setup is quite different than the DTEC.. I sourced an embedded system controller running Windows CE (PocketPC 2000 or better) for my dashboard, anyone who's met me has already seen the betas running on an HP Jornada 720 and on a Laptop PC..

I recently began working on a "MapGen" component to build map files from individual sections and outputting a MAP file.. Eventually I'm going to integrate the whole thing together..

I understand why its taking so long for this bad-boy to be released.. The development time alone must be crazy (from personal experience)

No.. gameboy device is a cartridge with an interface (probably several auxiliary inputs for a standalone setup too)

With the purchase of additional hardware/software packages from TurboXS, you can turn your DTEC into a powerful electronic fuel computer or boost controller. The DTEC fuel computer adjusts the Air/Fuel Ratio by modifying the air-flow meter/MAP sensor signal against engine load and RPM with tuning resolution that is second to none. The DTEC boost controller provides you with total control in either open or closed loop operation, all the while allowing you to display, record or playback any of the input or output signals like RPM, MAF or MAP.

Thats from the site. It looks like it was be an interface that you can use to make adjustments alot like the apexi power fc comander unit.
