Ok i figured out why my logs said ECU all the time. Because the map I was set to had ECU for timing. My bad. Car feels a ton better with some real timing in there

FWIW the stock boost solenoid even with the ABC seems to taper boost a bit.. Though I'm inclined to believe that I have some sort of boost leak at this point since I don't have a theory on what its doing other than the possibility that the solenoid isn't able to bleed enough air volume and therefore it tapers.

Anyway, the sudden changes in timing are likely inducing the minor knock.. you're going to have to spend a little time smoothing the timing changes between cells so you don't have severe timing changes in the areas you see knock..

Also, you may be running a little lean (seeing -12 in your fuel map usually means its a little lean from my experience unless you have an upgraded fuel pump)

I'd bump the fuel to -11 or even a little richer.. but look at your timing map in those cells and try to do a little smoothing.

The big 3 count looked to be a combination of timing jump and a little lean..

BAHAHA! I did the same exact thing the other day when I was testing a new map I was working on...

Jack, are you runninng the stock solinoid? I have brand new GMC solinoind sitting here with brand new harness, if you want it let me know i could ship it out for you to try $15.. It can definetly handle the volume of air you are running, and usually allows for faster spool and better boost control over the stock FBC..

I have the GM solenoid, but was getting a CEL due to the mismatched impedence of the solenoid.. How did you get around that? I'm currently running the stock solenoid but only to build some maps for the new 1.4c firmware beta I'm doing..

Just wire a resistor in line to get the desired impedence.. For my car people were using the inline resistor, then later found out the GM solinoid is better suited for the car then even the stock one, now we dont run the resistors any more..

What impedence did you need on your car to get it to run without a CEL?

My car the stock solinoid is 32ohms and the GM is 24ohms so a 10ohm resistor is used..

You would have to measure your stock solinoid..

Do you have a EVO? It doesn't sound like it. K i will stop being lazy and just measure the stock one

Yea measure the stock one, the GM should be 24ohms..

Yeah I've run it without the resistor and actually didn't get a CEL (I think its 28 ohms for stock) But I was concerned about damaging something then it later occurred to me that the UTEC is controlling the solenoid, and regenerating the signal to the stock ECU, so it shouldn't matter.. Go to my "GM Solenoid" thread, I think someone posted the impedence of the stock solenoid somewhere in there..

Anyway, My solenoid setup employs a MBC for overboost protection (see my other thread) but since i'm beta testing a new firmware for the UTEC, I am not running my blowthrough maf or GM Solenoid.. (funny that I'm running a blowthrough sensor from a ford cobra and a boost solenoid and other misc parts from a GMC Syclone and almost all my aftermarket parts are made in the USA.)
