Post your GM 3-bar sensor setup values

I installed a GM 3 bar sensor today and while I was setting it up I got the following values :

"Log 4" 0 psi MAP value: 83 ( Engine off )
"Log 4" 19 psi MAP value: 185 ( peak value at WOT )
"Log 4" idle MAP value: 39 ( value at engine idle )

Gradient : 186
Intercept: 154

Note: I state idle above because my boost gauge doesn't read vacuum

I am interested in seeing other people's values for the above, to see what kind of spread there is in these values.

Anyone else have any values ?

I'm actually using the values included with the UTEC, turns out the mathematical values I calculated were nearly identical to the values already in it.

Hmm, makes me wonder if mines major out of wack

Just for reference though, next time you log the car, could you maybe record the Log 4 values for engine off and at 0 psi, and also Log 4 value for the engine idling ??

Ok, no worries. Whenever you have the time.

The main reason I started this thread is that when I was installing the sensor, even though I was following the instructions in the Turbo XS manual, there was always a little doubt in my mind as to why the values were so different from the default values in Turbo XS's manual. Whenever I have doubt like this I often come to Evom to see if anyone has already blazed that trail. Seeing someone's figures helps a lot in deciding what you have done is on the right track or totally off.

I also thought it would be good if we could get a few members posting their values, to see if there is any commonality to the data or whether it's all over the map.

I'm still hoping others will chip in

Actually it makes perfect sense.. It depends on the source of your vacuum/boost signal, size of the line your running, size of the line its connected to, length of the line to the sensor, and even the type of wiring your running which can affect the upper and lower value of the signal.. In my case I think my setup closely mirrored their "test scenario" the hose was under a 1' in length, hose size was same as stock, and it was t'd off the DV line on the valvecover.. the overall length of wire is about 4' to the UTEC and the gauge of wire was large enough and shielded to not cause any load or pick up noise. Therefore the values ended up being real close to what they had, so I just left it (I'm talking a 1% difference in values)

Stupid question here, but how do I get to "log 4"? I have installed the map sensor, with a vacum line under 1', and a short route on the wiring. I am using the default TXS settings of 244/204 (something to this nature), and my gauge is reading 1.4 bar, and the map sensor is reading 28.2 psia. Any help on finding the appropriate location to get my numbers is greatly appreciated.

hit "4" at the UTEC menu screen.. there are several different logging levels.. justlike when you log data and you hit 1 or shift-1.. hit 4.. 4 has the digital outputs of the different relevent sensors and inputs, the one your looking for is for the MAP sensor.

Thanks Jack. Next time I'm up on the island I look you up. Do you know where Locust Avenue is? Just curious as my uncle lives on this street.

Yeah, Locust Ave is in the Oakdale area.. Easiest way to get there from my location is Sunrise Highway.. You should check out American Racing "ARE" (A wheel manufacturer that has a warehouse/distributor there)
