Test evo 9 Dyno Results Inside!

We made it to the dyno... but our session was cut short due to a redneck neighbor and noise...

We had time to do a little tuning on the Air Fuel only. No mivec timing adjustment nor any Ignition timing adjustments were made. We are going to try and head back tomorrow to finish her up.

ALL RUNS ARE ON A MUSTANG DYNO RUNS AND WERE MADE IN 3RD GEAR ON A 06 GSR EVO

First off, the total gain netted from stock to a cleaned air fuel line of 11.5 A/F, using our new Turbo Back exhaust, GSC 280 Intake/272 Exhaust Cams, and ECUFlash For tuning. (NO TIMING ADJUSTMENT OR MIVEC TUNING)

Black Is the GSC 280 Intake 272 Exhaust, TBE Gragh
Red is the Stock Car Base line

Stock Runs were made at 20.2psi falling to around 16.5PSI
GSC 280/272 and TBE were 20.5PSI falling to around 17.2psi

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second up is the difference between just bolting in a set of GSC 280/272 Cams made on the car. The car was running so rich up top (in the 9.5 Air Fuel Range) you can see the dip in power on the topside. The entire time the car was in boost on this run the car ran under 10.5 Air Fuel

BLACK GRAPH is the GSC280/272 Equiped car
RED GRAPH is just the addition of the GSC Turbo Back Exhaust

__________________________________________________ _______________________

And Finally we have a graph compairing all three.

RED IS EXHAUST SYSTEM ONLY
BLACK IS JUST BOLTING IN A SET OF GSC 280/272 CAMS
BLUE IS A CLEAN AIR FUEL LINE OF 11.5A/F NO Timing ADJUSTMENT OR MIVEC ADJUSTMENT..

__________________________________________________ ____________________

All in all the car feels night and day better than before. I was unhappy that the air fuel line of the NO TUNING JUST Bolting in the cams was in the low 10's falling into the 9s air fuel wise.

The one thing we did notice is that the temperature last week (WHEN WE BASELINED THE CAR AND TESTED THE EXHAUST) was actually about 20Degree's Colder than this afternoon.

good stuff, no loss of spool or torque, yet big gains on the top end. The turbo sure seems to be limiting, the hp started to roll over on the big end. It's the common denominator in all three graphs.

Soooo... am i correct, it made 28+ hp and 14+ lbs

Would you have seen greater numbers with race gas?

(i know normally you would, but in the case using stock w/race gas and with cams/race gas)

I could be wrong but it looks like with the Exhaust and Cams tuned, they made +42 whp!?!

Stock: 270 whp
Exhaust & Cams w/ 11.5 A/F tune: 312 whp

And thank you for doing these tests. This is what I wanted to see in the Works thread but everybody said "Who is going to add cams to a basically stock car?" Well I for one would have if I first saw your results! You most diff. have a customer in me now. Thanks very much!!!

To be honest so did I...I guess Real World Dyno testing dosen't warrant as much excitement.

We made a gang of pulls on that dyno tweeking the A/F. It was severely heatsoaked. I feel that if we were able to let her cool down for just 30 minutes and do a little more A/F tweeking, we could have maybe hit close to 320 (JMO).

Then the rednecks that live behind the shop were about to call the police for noise (but this is in a Commercial zone?!). Dyno time got cut short.

This thing pulls way harder and smoother than before. Before..it hit hard and then kinda peter'd off. Now...it's a constant pull all of the way up. The words "Night and Day" fit it's transformation. The idle is impressive, too.

Now he just has to get back to the track and put some real numbers down. Graphs-smaphs. You still gotta beat my times, Jeff, before you can hoist that crown above your head!

seems like the exhaust should have been added first. comparring stock with exhaust and then with cams would have been a much better comparison on what the cams are doing.

Scott running a GSC Intake cam with another compeditors Exhaust cam is like Wearing a Nike on one foot and a Reebok on the other, sure ur feet are covered but when one leg is higher than the other you're going to walk a little funny.

Our cams are setup together to work together. lift and durration on our cams are different than other brands, running someone elses exhaust cam is going to change overlap and cam timing. I DO NOT SUGGEST IT.
