Asking MSRP for an essentially a brand new car is "far above market value"?

Think about what you're saying. Sam and South Coast Mitsubishi (and the other three stores under the Abbas' ownership) has shown more love to the Evo community than you could ever imagine. While most other dealerships outside of that network were usually against discounting Evos, these guys had been offering Evos below invoice to the community without haggling. So now that they decided to unearth FOUR stashed pristine IX MRs no longer produced and ask for sticker, then you think they're suddenly not showing love? Anyone with business sense would do that when you have something relatively rare and in demand within a niche market. Plus if you want a deal, then I'm sure they'll happily sell you a X GSR or X MR at the discounted Evo community prices.

Sam (and the dealership) doesn't play games. I can already tell you that that is not the case. They have built up a very solid reputation within the Evo community. I do agree it would be nice to have pictures, but knowing a lot of them personally, I will tell you that there is nothing to worry about. Like Sam said before, the vehicles are in storage at a location outside of the dealership. He (or whoever at the dealership) would have to go out of their way to photograph cars where you know what they look like. They're just busy, like anyone else here with a job, as their workday doesn't revolve around trying to move these four specific cars. Sometimes they work bell-to-bell, and they may not have time to drive out to where the vehicles are after 10pm.

Give it time, Sam will produce pictures. And I'm sure the cars are in perfect condition, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's not like eBay, where you could get some broken product mailed to you. We're talking about vehicles to be sold through a dealership, where you will view the vehicle personally and have to sign paperwork before handing over a single penny. If it's not what you were expecting, then you don't have to buy it.

I won't doubt what sam says. after the 2009 evo X fiasco, I will take his word for it. that is the best gift of sam to the evom community. there are those enthusiast/collector/car crazy who wants an untouched evo IX MR in all its glory and here it is. with that price, I don't think he will have problem moving it. the problem would be who gets first dibs on what color

Color is what someone also takes into account when purchasing a car.

I have a Black 9. I want a white 9. I will pay money to have a white car and not a black one.

Or you have 10k in equity in your current Evo9 plus a bit of cash saved up and you want a mint white Evo 9...

You might have to pay more than you think. We're going after the exact same car.
