i think ppl just mention teh greddy type s bov so much bc the flange from the rrm kit lets it bolt right up. id rather jsut get it if i had to get a better one bc i dont want to have to spend the little extra to geta shop to weld a flange for me.

The simple solution is to get a common flange put on your intake piping i.e. 2g Eclipse and then you can just buy BoV's with flanges and swap as many times as you'd like.

EDIT: That is easy if you want swapability.

The Road Race kit has a tubular pipe connection for the BOV. At least mine does. From what I understand, there is an adaptor that comes with the Greddy to make it fit.

Hobie do you mean a 1g flange... 2g's come with the same BOV RRM provides... there is no flange??

A 1G flange is not the same as the greddy or other BOV's i've seen. I'm not sure which you meant Hobie?

I just picked 2g because it was the first car that came to mind. But what I meant was that having the flange (where the valve bolts to the intake piping ON your intake piping) from a common, turbocharged car will allow you to install BoV kits build specifically for that car (because they have the matching flange ON the BoV). So apparently I chose a bad example, but hopefully I've clarified.

Figured as much... no worries.

Most Bov's that have adapter kits make their flange into a hose fitting though. Then again there are a lot of BOV's that come hose to hose anymore. Most cars do now as well. Cheap bastard car companies... saving the buck and making another leak point!

Yes, my sister's Saab is also hose to hose. Hoses = potential failure points. If I can't bolt it down, I trust it that much less. Especially as the boost goes up, more and more pressure means less and less certainty.

Amen to that Andrew. What happened to the good 'ole days where it was metal to metal with a gasket and bolts. At least make it a hard pipe kit and not a crinkled dryer vent looking hose like I see on some of these cars.
