vannotmi got a point. There's no worries about over heating up here. But let's not forget the good old saying in the northeast, if you dont like the weather, wait 15 minutes and it will change.

I could run it all day and even give it more boost and have more hp. HMMMM Maybe I should move up north and chill. this southern air down here not cool especially in summer hot humid and it a killer.

I think the answer is going to be something along the lines of "max boost will be determined as much by if/how much you decompress the engine as by how strong your new internals are". But you asked Rob and I'm sure he can give a more detailed answer than that.

Decompression is all and good but i was interested in teh bottom end of the engine someone told me (MITSIMAN) that the lancer engine can't handle more then 15 psi without $3500 worth of bottom end work It seems dubioous as people in Puerto Rico run that on their 4g93s all day everyday with of coursed foged cons/pistons and afc so I wanted to know from ROCK what the dilly is on this

With Decompression you could run 20 psi maybe. Rally motors are high compression like 9.5:1. Why lower compression? Cheaper to run stock bottom end for meantime and run less boost. Basically a 9.5:1 motor at 8 psi will prolly make more power and have more low end torque than a 8.5:1 motor at 12 psi. That is the dilly for surely!!

oh no, i hate to start this discussion but i disagree with boost on higher compression engines. Sure you may get more low end torque with 8 psi @ 9.5:1 but your sacrificing the lifespan of your engine. People always want to compare rally cars and other professional series cars to street cars but you have to remember how often the rebuild those engines. They run high compression with boost because they don't need that engine to last more than a few races. For a daily driven car you don't have the luxury of swapping motors when something gives on your way to work (at least i don't have that luxury). In my opinion anything over maybe 7 psi (at the absolute most) you would want 9:1 or lower (i think 8.5:1 or 8.8:1 would be ideal for 5+ psi). Now i'm not claiming to be some uber import engine wizard, but i had to share my opinion.

I have been looking for forged pistons with a lower compression ratio for the lancer for awhile, so Lanceroz84 please share the wealth on those forged 8.5:1 forged pistons!

nice dyno sheat. for a while i decide not to get a turbo but every time i race a honda and they beat me it makes me wanna cry.

How much woudl a shop install be (estimate) on a non intercooled setup. also Ntran how did your dealership justify it still being under warranty with the turbo.
this will be the deciding factor if i get a turbo at the end of summer or not.

i just blew my engine and they were not going to put it under warranty but i was able to make a deal with the service manager. It is a hard process. If it happens to anyone just take out the turbo setup and bring it into a dealership and they will take the warranty. You will never regret the turbo kit. When you get a manual boost controller do not turn up the boost too much and forget synthetic oil if you do that your engine will be fine. I will post pics of my pistons soon. You will always beat hondas and a few mustangs
