I think it would be a lot of fun to piece together a kit. However, I have a ton of reading/research to do. I know the basics of what go into a kit, but all the little details - that I don't have a clue. It would also be really sweet if I could piece together one for under $1000 That would basically be a shopping around game.

no, i gave up, we prolly aint getting it, prolly got scammed. i opened a paypal dispute and sent him like 20 e-mails, and STILL no response, oh his phone is no longer in service either, i got it from matt. heres the number, if it works for u then ask him where my kit is for me, lol, here 817-439-0550.

so now, i gotta go tomorrow and pick up some AN and npt fittings at home depot and then to my bros garage for some ss braided nylon oil line. i just dont know where im gonna get a flange for the oil drain.

yea, hobie knows his stuff, i suggest if my turbo works out good(i cant see any reason y it wont) that you(z_lancer) follow my thread for the parts list, and research a LOT, and then some more, i know thats what i did.

so now i gotta go dig around at home depot cause those retards at cheapturbolines.com either went outta business or just fell off the planet, i paid for mine on the 3rd, wtf!!! where is it? its 18 days since i paid for it, their site says they will ship it out within 1-2 business days, NO EXCEPTIONS. i can sue them over this, i lost 300 bux not working this past weekend cause i scheduled off to install the turbo, but i coudnt without oil lines, lol. i could but i wouldnt get to far before something went KAB-O-O-M, LOL.

i will now be starting the install on the 24th, all i need is my oil line kit i paid for 18 days ago.

imapunkclaimer: u didnt mean me did ya? cause i think i can source out these parts in my sleep, and then install them too, lol. as long as you research enough, and have a passion for cars(this way u remember what u researched) you shouldnt have too many problems. like i said before, if i had 4300 to throw at a kit, i wouldve, but the 1400 dollar kit i built is just as good as the stg 1 ic'ed kit, so that 3000 DOLLARS is going towards college in the fall. only main problem i came across was this spcheil goin on now with me not recieving my oil line kit, that would never happen with rrm, even if it did they woulda fixed it by now.

I think it's -4AN for the feed line btw.

EDIT: Oh, and I want to say 1/8NPT fittings, but really...don't bank on either. I'm like 78.3% sure.

Home Depot doesn't carry AN fittings, you'll have to go to a place like Summit Racing or a performance shop to get them. And don't forget the thread sealant too. You can get the brass adapter fittings you'll need from Home Depot though. The oil lines are -4AN and here is a quick diagram of how it is installed along with oil sending units. I'm not sure what fittings you will need to connect the oil line to the turbo though, but I can go look during lunch. I'm pretty sure they are 1/4 NPT, but I can look and compare them to my other fittings. Also, I might be wrong about the adapter into the engine block, so get a 1/4 NPT female to 3/4 NPT male adapter as well as a 1/4 NPT female to 1/2 NPT male adapter, but I am about 90% sure it is 3/4.

Oh yeah, if you have an oil temp sender, don't set it up like this because it doesn't give you correct readings as the hot oil flow doesn't reach it. I'm actually going to tee off the tee and install it there. I just love having a big conglomeration of adapters that can start leaking at any time

EDIT: The fitting going into the turbo is 1/8 NPT. I compared it to the size of the ends of my oil sending units and it is about the same size. I'm pretty sure it's not 1/4 NPT. So to connect the oil feed line to the turbo you'll need -4 AN male to 1/4 NPT male adapter, 1/4 NPT female to 1/8 NPT male (RRM uses a 90 degree swivel fitting here), and 1/8 NPT female to 1/8 NPT male. The extra adapter at the end lifts the adapters and line up higher so you can route it any way you want. You could probably also find a 90 degree -4AN male to 1/8 NPT male as well.

wow, thanks a ton, im still kinda confused though, so im gonna call atp, a place hobie recommended and see what they can do, if they cant by friday, i will be calling RRM and bugging them to see what they can do for me. thats whats good about rrm, they are dependable, and they wont f*ck u over, ever.

im kinda lost, i would like to make my own, but i need like a shopping list of stuff, all i see in your edit is a bunch of different npt sizes and confusing AN sizes. sorry, lol. thanks a bunch for going out on lunch and checking though, all i gotta do is get this and im ready to start the install.

EDIT: ehh, im just gonna go RRM, at this point i dont care what it would cost, if i go custom, from atp, its gonna cost me close to 140. thats for 5 ft of -4AN line, 6 fittings, the oil drain flange, and the turbo oil feed flange which is flared, a regular fitting aint gonna work. i need the header bolts anyways for my dp, i hope they got them and can have this stuff to me by friday, i got faith in them, it is RRM we are talking bout.

i do appreciate what u did for me though, and you too hobie, but i'd rather have a premade kit anyways, just one less thing to break, lol. man i hope the folks at rrm are in a good mood tomorrow cause this will prolly mess up their whole day, sorry rrm in advance, lol, but i do neeed them to help me out.

Be sure to get a wideband O2 and keep an eye on your A/F ratios.

i should(key word should) be running ok for now with just a 12:1 fmu, walbro 255 hp pump, and only pushing 5-6 psi should be good for now, the way im thinking i should be fairly rich. for now i just have a egt guage, air/fuel guage, boost and oil psi. dont laugh at my regular a/f guage, gabe laughed at me enough for it, thanks gabe.

wideband o2 will come after i install the emanage when i have time to do it.

COUNTDOWN:
2 DAYS TO INSTALL, lol, im sooo happy im going fi, i thought this day would never come

Man, should be a lot of fun. I decided to sell my Ralliart seats instead of my OZ seats. I figured I'd have a better chance getting money back. Then I can start piecing together my own kit and use this thread as a "checklist"
