My RRM intercooled turbo passed the emissions

I Just want to let everyone know I passed the emissions test having the RRM intercooled kit with the RRM headers. I'll post the results once I scanned them in the computer. Why is everyone having the "check engine" line but not me? Mine never went on since the first time the turbo was awaken. Did I Do something different with my setup? I'm not sure but I did ask boe alot of questions and made sure everything is the way they should be. Oh, also I realized the reason why RRM didn't pass their emissions on their kit is because the only thing that failed is the cold start. Correct me if I'm wrong... Anyway I just want to let everyone know that you're good to go with RRM's emissions, just let them know you still have two cats

Cali does a visual test that makes the kit fail... the smog tests don't do cold starts they just do regular running tests. To make the kit CARB legal though cali requires it past the cold start. Stupid emmisions laws... anyway, glad to hear you passed. I knew you would!

^^ Yeah? Do you have to rip out your kit, pass, then put it back in?

I dont know for sure, but they'll probably give u some kind of citation and make u come back within a certain time period (maybe a couple of weeks?) and make do the test over again. If u fail it again, maybe they'll impound ur car or make u pay a fine of some sort, im not sure. I assume they do a visual check to see if u have a cat in place, and if not, thats why your car fails. If u can, try to throw a cat on ur car (that is if it will fit).

Do think there would be enough room in the main exhaust piping to put two cats in series? Like have another cat after the second one?

i don't know what the big deal in cali is about taking stuff on and putting it back on. you do emissions testing every 2 years. and after reading here, it looks like the first 6 years you pay a fee before even getting a smog check(for new cars). i think i might have read it wrong, but yeah. should be all there. i don't think it's really all that bad.

Good to hear you passed man.. good job. =D I have an idea for Cali.. but besides the visual test. I don't know how to get around visual.. just say it came like that? But anyways, maybe modify a catback so you have 2 cats in a row, but after emissions, just get 2 of RRMs high flow test pipes and bolt those back in place. I'm sure a local muffler shop would cut the pieces and weld the brackets for around 50 bux, give or take a little.

So, everyone with 2002 and above year lancers or other vehicles, shouldn't worry about being smog checked until 2008 right.... I'm I understanding this correctly ..!!

I know in MO if your car is 96+ (as of now) as long as you don't throw any CELs you are good to go. I tested my Lancer and they plugged into my OBDII took like 2 minutes.
