Oil return...can it be done through drain hole?
I was just curious if you could thread an adapter (not sure if thats what you would need) to screw into the oil drain hole. Would there be a problem returning through that? Just curious......
Yes there would be a problem. See the oil return line must be above or at the same level of the oil level in the oil pan... being under the oil level will cause oil pressure and you don’t want that for the oil return line. Pick the highest spot in the oil pan and drill it.
Az3ar is correct. Oil returns are SOLELY gravity fed, and you do NOT want to swamp your turbo. Tap the pan. It's not exactly the most difficult thing in the world. And yes, it's been asked and answered at least a few times that I know of.

Any competent shop should be able to tap your oil pan... all you have to do is show them where. I took my pan to a driveshaft shop and showed the guy where I wanted it tapped. 20 bucks and 1/2 hour later, voila.
I have my oil feed T'ed off the oil pressure sending unit at the back of the block.

did you read what he said above???
"remember that turbo oil returns are GRAVITY fed, and that swamping your bearings means the DEATH of a turbo"
yeah you have to have a gravity feed for the return, if you plumb it into the drain your actually trying to push oil back up and through, just get it tapped the right way and have no worries, there is no way using the drain will work.
