That tap is into the block no? Well i have a question; i went to a local shop and when i tried to explain the procedure to the guy he was all confused and stuff. I dunno if he understands what im talking about. He told me i had to have a nut welded on the inside so it would have something to hold on to. Now from reading the posts around here i havent seen a person say that; i just thought you tap and thread the oil pan, is it thick enough? Plus he wants 50$ too expensive?

No, that's the upper oil pan. The lower oil pan is the black part. $50 isn't unreasonable assuming he's including the hardware, but people getting confused over simple jobs always concerns me. You don't need to weld a nut, but that is one approach. I mentioned another in one of my earlier posts.

It's not necessarily the BEST way, but it's one way. Yes.

EDIT: That's how mine is done (mine is threaded too though), and though I do get a drop of oil coming out every now and then it's minimal and seems to be coming from the drain hose, not the oil pan.

Why not do what most people do? Tap the pan, and screw in a fitting?

I apologize; i should have done more research. After carefully researching it i now know that you tap the UPPER oil pan. I am having it done tomorrow by my uncle. Only other thing we were unsure about is that it is a 5/8" tap you use.....Once again; sorry for the ignorance.......but i learned alot!! Install still coming sunday, stay tuned!
