TSI kit still tickin strong
Ryan... i totally appologise for all that bro. I just kept getting rubbed and couldn't take it.
Your car is friggin nice bro and you need to be proud of it as i know you are. I posted some great advice and info and if you ever need some assistance or info feel free to pm me. Hell i'll give you my number and you can call me when ever. Your one of the guys i was talking about... you have patients and are willing to work out the quarks that may come along. In the end you'll have the power you want for a price you were more willing to pay. Your happy and that's awesome.
I think the post will be back on topic now so please don't bail... just continue as we were getting some good info exchange going.
Again my appologies,
Later,
Boe

People are tired of you ruining threads period and acting like a child. You do members of this forum no service with your speculative comments and slander. Furthermore, you should be banned or leave. Maybe I'll help that along. Great job Ryan. Glad to hear you got it running well.
ROAD/RACE
Some have had issues with the 02-03 on synthetic... seems the oil pump doesn't really like it and pressure falls... then things go bad.
Some have used it and been fine... it's like a hit or miss kindof thing.
General speaking though there should be no difference in them whether boosting or not. It's better to break a motor in on the old dyno oil to set the rings but after that synthetic is great and frees up a few ponies as well.

ryan - that avc-r sounds awesome, i was looking into it before, but i didn't want to play around with my boost as i was happy with 9 psi. i think that would be a great investment tho considering you can turn the boost down to where you won't rip the tires off the ground in 1st and 2nd gear like i did
looks... from what i heard it was in the tolerances of the pump that caused the issues. Seems synthetics resistance to flow is a lot lower and the pump wasn't picking it up as well. There have been issues with both NA and turbo guys but then there are guys that have no issues at all. Hell the evo's require it according to mitsu... What you gonna do??
I'm with hotshot on that... seems like one of the best ideas. I've never heard of it but i'd want it for the boosted lancer. It's not something i'd use much now that i've got the AWD beast but i'd be highly interested if i was you hotshot.
Ryan can you post some more info about it... especially price/where/instructions... is there a website that gives us a good breakdown on it? If not can you give us some how to's about it?

I hope synthetic is going to be ok, i took a chance with 16,000 miles on the motor and figured it would be ok, i did the first 500 miles mobil 1 and then put it in again and am now at 1000 miles, i figured the only thing new to the engine was the rods and pistons and i would rather get a little bit of blowby by the rings for a while than risk shi..y oil and mechanical failure. So far so good just a little blowby with backpressure. But shes not blowin anything under accelaration, in fact its never sounded better. Maybe i will switch off synthetic for an oil change to help the rings but i think the oil thing is up in the air. As for the avc-r i will post a new thread for it with pics and give u guys all the details tommorrow, im going to bed , i have a bike test tommorrow morning, i have the permit but i need the licence, i just bought a 2005 yamaha r6 FUN! 125 horse in a 325lb frame! talk to yall tommorrow!
First off, the one reason I am not active on this board is summed up in this thread.... mindless, pointless, OFF-TOPIC bickering between people. Almost like preschool... seriously, how old are you guys?
Secondly (and another reason I am not that active), in my Mirage, I ran synthetic (and have advocated it since time began) when my motor saw about 80K. Even after I rebuilt it, I used regular oil the first 500 miles, change, 1000 miles, change, 1500 miles, then synthetic since. Most of you know my boost stories, and thus far, I have not had any oil related problems, except for a small hole in my oil pan.

hey Quez, have there ever been any oil pump failures in mirages that you heard of at all? ran a check and the lancer oil pump is the same as the mirage pump since '93.
just saying that since the mirage has been out since '93 and been boosting since then (i'm assuming) then these latest lancer blow ups might not be oil pump related as thought. but it's also true that the part number for the pump changed in '97 and that the assembly technique could have changed and are affecting newer pumps.
just speculating.

Rhyzin, of all the boosted Miragers I know, none have had any oil related failures and all of them are running synthetic oil. Most of the 1.8Ls that are boosted are 97+, so I could see where your theory is going.
This also holds true for all the 300+ whp Miragers as well. No oil pump failure problems, or nothing oil related. Of the few I just polled, I am having the most oil problems, stemming from a small pin ***** in my oil pan causing me to lose oil.

good job ryan, its nice to see lancer ppl not going in the same cloned direction that the while crowd goes and getting a lot out of it.
wow why do so many "adults" act like 6th grade boys competing to see who can **** the furthest from the urinal. rigo, nextgen, and especially boe and rock, you all act so ridiculously childish sometimes.
