Hey, saw your post so I'd thought I'd come on in and say thanks for the Evo grill. F/I, no matter which option, is a kick in the pants. Man, which I could actually afford either of the kits. Anyways, back to work...later.

Hmm, one thing I hate about the rrm is the dump tube for the waste gate doesn't recirculate back to the exhaust. You have to get it custom made, otherwise you'll get alot of noise on the upper RPM range that is quite annoying. I think it is highly suggested if you go to stage to to have it rerouted to your downpipe. Wish the up/downpip turbo has a wastegate route directly made for it.

I'm not sure about the fuel system though. They can either update that to something better. Who knows, I think rrm forgot about the base lancer. They're busy doing stuff for the ralliarts, evos and who knows what else. I kinda like the Ripp idea cause it doesn't need to deal with the exhaust system I think.

The reason why I chose rrm is I like the challenge of the install and how I can trouble shoot and everything. And turbo probably sounds better?

Holy crap ur the one I sold my evo grill today lol. I sent it to mail by 10am EST. I didn't know your an evo member. Enjoy your grill hehe, I added a little extra but you were one of my last costumer so you didn't get to have keychains and other freebies I have lol. I wasted lots of money to make my car look good but then RRM evo conversion came ><. Now I have to save up for autocross perches+swaybar, and convertion kit. that sums up my fears.... If i go turbo and something more worthy setup comes up in the near future I'll feel devastated.... part of the reason why I wanted to know more about the problems most supercharger and turbo guys have... So when I get my ultimate FI setup I will reduce the risk of blowing certain things therefore saving myself the hassle of working on it mentally, financially, timewise.

well i had the sds running strong for about 10-15k miles. and i beat on it too, i was always redlining and etc. i love the kit, its real reliable. i didn't have any issues just running to rich due to the 440injectors but i didn't go back to ripp to finalize anything so it wasn't there fault. the kit is real good for u in the description u gave us, reliable power! thats wut ripp stands for.

I heard something from other posts concerning that annoying noise... don't ask me what posts lol I'm too lazy to look. I mean I have heard some nice sounding turbos before. But I think for the lancer I prefer a low tone but in high rpms with hissing sound. lol like "crouching tiger, hidden dragon". Don't mess with the lancer, push him more and he will bite har har har. Anyway thanks for putting up that concern, maybe RRM has a reason of doing this? performance-wise i mean. I'm not a turbo genius but what you said kinda make sense. Isn't most turbo suppose to reroute via downpipe/ exhaust? that's what I saw on howstuffworks.com. dunno i'm stupid so correct me if i'm wrong

your making it hard for me to choose man ; ;...... I like the sound of "reliable power". the option that makes me look up to the future of superchargers in our lancers. you have the sds stage 1 right? compared to green's car did you find any problems in your sds? and if so did you get to solve the problem? what would you recommend that you might want to put in future supechargers... I do hope there are some other companies with ***** to compete with ripps' sds. No offense RIPP I wanted to see a battle of superchargers, a battle of turbos, and a battle of these 2 different FIs so I can see which is the king of the hill. thanks for green's post that i learned a lot concerning superchargers. I look forward to things in the future.... I'm trying to save up for FIs starting yesterday so I'm trying to reasearch some of the existing thread concerning FIs. I still believe that there's more space to advancement about ripp's supercharger. Like green said even with stage 2 we can change some internals to make it better. I wonder what green would recommend to make his stage 2 better?

any of you have tackled twin turbos or a combination of turbo/supercharger. even geo metros have them. I wonder why it's rare to see a lancer with twin turbos. The 4g94 engine we have is kinda sad but if low powered vehicles can have twin turbos, y can't we? I've seen other lancers specially in ebay who equipped NOS in their system but I heard that it's dangerous for our engine just to have it... maybe they know the best setup for these? I'm a noob so give me light : (

Wow, busting out the twin-turbos on a Lancer? Good God, we can't even run a mild 50 shot w/o explosive conscequences. For reliablity, go for the RIPPs kit. But for tuneability and mid to top-end power go RRM. This is what I've read now, like yourself. Never have had any turbo or super-charged vehicles before. BTW...thanks again for the quick shipment on that grill.

i had a stage 2, the funny thing is that greenphysco now has my kit. i sold it to him. i did not have any problems with my car except using larger injectors, rather tahn using the 310, we used 440. but the 440 is too big. there were no problems otherwise. just lookin at new things. greenphsyco has been in my car, it pulls real good from like 2900+. i even remember him sayin damn 3rd gear feels so much stronger. i remember those giggles he had when i first gave him a taste of the sds "damn this shyt pulls"? ehh Jay? haha

lol, yeah i was grinning like an idiot when i rode in it. same as when i rode in the stg2 manual at ripp.

the problem with nextgen's huge injectors is now solved, in fact, as i type this mine is on the dyno being tuned in (310cc main injectors plus the supplimental injector that only supplies fuel when needed)

as for beyond stg2 sds, something as simple as forged pistons could allow you to boost higher. i figure if you grab forged pistons, rods, new valve springs and a ported head, you could push 18psi or so on the blower, probably make 270whp (on my auto lancer)

hmmm so the new sds kit will have 310cc injectors rather than 440? I wanna experience riding in a supercharged lancer too (drool)
