the problem with nextgen's huge injectors is now solved, in fact, as i type this mine is on the dyno being tuned in (310cc main injectors plus the supplimental injector that only supplies fuel when needed)

as for beyond stg2 sds, something as simple as forged pistons could allow you to boost higher. i figure if you grab forged pistons, rods, new valve springs and a ported head, you could push 18psi or so on the blower, probably make 270whp (on my auto lancer)
OMG 270whp. the continuous spool, higher psi's...... my god is makes me lean towards supercharger ; ;, btw i've seen you in some turbo posts... what made you go supercharger? what does turbo lack to make you so serious going supercharger?...... Is RRP blackbox a PB? if so, with RRM reflashed ECU and RIPP blackbox... would it be compatible? will it work?

the sds always had 440, but we were tryin to c what we can do with my car since i have pistons, but we couldn't go further with the kit since the intake manifold on our car sux, but greenphsyco has the 4g93 which is a better IM all around. bigger chamber and better runners. that woulda helped me run more boost. but i guess we wont find out untill physco gets some pistons. but anyways the kit comes with 310 ever since it came out.. we were just testing

well, thats just a guess really, but in a year or so i may try that. the good thing about the blower ripp uses is it maxes out at 25psi, so the same unit you use for 7psi is the same one you use for 25 psi, no swapping to a larger unit like you would do a turbo

hell, would you put a 25psi turbo in your car and scale it down to 7psi? of course not cause the lag would be stupid, thats what is kinda neat about the super charger.

i went supercharger because i like the supercharger for the reasons everyone else seems to hate it LOL

its always boosting, and i like that, i don't want lag, i don't want to have to floor it just to get boost, i want power all the time. in many ways, the SC is like driving a bigger engine, no funky power curve, just smooth sailing up to redline

IMHO, i think the sc is a bit safer than the turbo for a few reasons, and i think the setup is really simple compared to turbo, easy to install, nothing real complicated about it

finally the price. i think ripps stg2 is like 4200, and true it may not make as much power as the turbo at similar psi, but rrm's stg2 is around 5300, so its 1g cheaper and your giving up, what, like 20whp?

yes, ripp's blackbox is a PB but its not compatible with any other ecu mods (reflash, rrm pb, emanage, etc)

no black box is ripps own fuel management system. it is NOT ompatible with the pggyback from rrm.

putting any type of forced induction on a NA car is going to have some flaws. just something to keep in mind. IMO, save the money you would have spent on a kit and use it to buy a car thats already turbo or SC and mod that. you will get better results. so my answer is neither.

no offense to you turbo lancer guys

Nah, it's the 4G93 from the 97+ Mirage. Almost a bolt-on from what I've read.

hmmmm interesting....... i have more options than buying ported IMs, and about buying an FI car, I don't think i can do that because I have some sort of bond with my car. A car that never failed me, saved me from the stupid flaws I have when driving. I have driven evo8s, gto, 350zs, etc etc in my workplace but the most comfortable drive in the whole world that I cannot replace is my 02 lancer OZ. Some of the lancer owners have the money to buy evo8s but they stayed reinforcing the lancer. why? because the lancer is fun. slower than the mazda mp3s and yet the lancer even inspire evo owners. So I do think lancer guys deserve more special thing than the evos lmao. when evo8 came out people put the lancers aside but not rrm and ripp. well about rrm they're more into lancer 04-05... i hope they're not forgetting the 02s-03s O_o

after reading all these wonderfull posts I have just about decided to go sc over tc. When im not screaming down country roads im gonna be doing autox's so sc would be my best bet for a smooth power band. does ripp have a web site? I kinda searched(not to hard) but i couldnt find one......also someone said they would be only ones that could tune it....so i would have to drive down to con. to get it tuned?

hmmm wonderful posts.... not bad posts in my opinion. I was hoping to see beyond turbo and supercharger. since both FIs has its ups and downs, I was thinking of some stupid, idiotic ideas in my head. like from the other thread where an evo has both system inside whereas the supercharger helps spool the turbo. I mean the idea isn't idiotic but the application to regular lancers would be but i dunno, all i can do is dream. Maybe we can't apply the same things due to engine but i'm kinda open minded

RIPP superchargers boast reliable power and continuous spools not to mention decent mileage and methanol injection systems, FMU piggyback aka "blackbox" which is really impressive. RRM turbos backed by their reputation of reliable service and "worth to buy" products, capable of doing 290WHP with all internals and mods pieced together. Both are worth your buck yet will cost you some months of your life or a fraction of your lifetime. A luxury most couldn't afford so people loses faith and buy an evo, some other project car, custom turbos on their own just to get rid of a hasselsll the. Some people think honda turbos are cheap and y not the lancers? why? maybe because hondas are so popular that tons of people back them up.

I love the lancer, I'm still saving up for my autocross perches and swaybar. It got bent during my past accident. But i kinda dream that I'll get an FI. More like working on that dream. so with this thread that I posted, it shed some light thanks to the people who contributed to it. I even feel i've been in autox and green's car lol. In the near future there'll be someone I hope that can bring in an affordable, worth it, perfect, upgradeable FI kit where lancer people can say, "I got an FI in my lancer where I can do tons of things and I don't have to break my back or stress myself out. Availability, Affordability, Reliable Power, Upgradeability, Durability, Variability(so people have their own unique FIs)and Plug' n Play. All of this these that I have to keep in mind while working in my car. reasearch info, looking for parts, making your car shine bright where you can be proud of wherever you might be. It's like watching a baby grow while you guide them to the right direction. I think this what makes the car really fun to work with. and every mile you drive with it is fun. Just my .02 Thanks for all who contributed to the thread. It did inspire some people and clear some things up. Just hoping there's more to it than what we have now. I'm a noob, but this noob wants something that will contribute to the lancer community. I learned a lot from this thread and i hope the rest learned something too. ^^
