manual boost controllers...

so w/ my rrm stage 2 kit i dont think im hitting 9psi...

so i was gonna get a boost controller but the electronic ones are expensive!

i was thinking of getting a manual one for cheap like $50.00

question is...are they worth it, will i be hitting 9psi w/ it

i heard they suck cause they have this dial and u dont actually know how much boost ur hitting unless u have a boost gauge (which i have)

i jus want ur guys view on it

mostly im asking, am i wasting money if i get this! i wanted to run it by u guys b4 i bought it.

I don't think a boost controller will really help you if you're already having problems reaching 9lbs. It probably means you have a leak somewhere, which means even with a boost controller, you'll still have the problem. You may have the ability to hit 9lbs with a controller, but you will still have a leak/problem somewhere which could cause more problems down the road. I'd check everything out before you get a controller.

what kind of boost numbers are you seeing?

you can use starter fluid to find your boost leak if your having one just hose down the couplers and stuff with it the idle will raise once youve found it

I can sell you a turbo xs boost controller for 50$ + shipping but your problem is probably not related to the boost controller as someone said earlier.

Did you end up buying a boost controller? Or was it the wrong spring?

i dont think the spring is exactly for 9 pounds. it might be more like 8ish. call em up and ask them before you drop unnecessary cash

Are you going to tap into the BOV line? Also, once you install you can change boost (higher and lower) despite the spring you have in the wastgate?

So my statement was correct, right? Despite the spring in the external wastegate you can change the boost if you tap your manual boost controller inline with your BOV line.

You tap the turbo------>wastegate line, so it becomes
turbo------>bc-------->wastegate
