Yeah, I know. But now I don't have the power to edit it.

No damaged/bent fins on intake or exhaust side. Water line banjo bolts included, as well as an oil feed line banjo bolt is included... an oil drain flange is also included. This turbo utilizes an internal wastegate set @ 9psi, included. Turbo also uses a T-25 flange. A/R: intake; .48, Exhaust; .46. "
Personally, and kind of obviously, I'd go for a larger turbo and I'd go new or one with a verifiable history. I'd always be skeptical of used turbos, but that's just me. (And everyone's out to get me. ) I'd pass on it, but that's more personal perference than anything else.

Oh, and some of the Saab turbos use really annoying flanges that would suck to build around imo. I don't know what style flang/connection it is, but they make me angry just looking at them in my sister's 900SE.

well, in my infinite (lack of) wisdom i went ahead and bought it. maybe i'll get lucky and it'll be fine. if nothing else, it's something to play around with and i can always sell it later.

Don't worry about it. You can always resell it if it's in anywhere near decent condition. or you can use it if you decide it suits you. Do post a pic when you get it though. I wanna know what kind of flanges it uses.

And don't worry about the impulse buy. Just convince yourself you were stimulating the economy.

hey andrew, when this turbo shows up, i'd like to test the wastegate to confirm that it's set at 9psi. 2 questions...

1. what would be the best way to do that? take it to a shop?
2. if it's set at 9, do i still need to worry about getting an external adjustable wastegate? i know 9psi is really the "pushing your luck with the internals" point.

BTW: I think it should say EvoM Guru & Robert Mentor

I have zero experience with internal wastegates. I really have very little experience with them, and try to steer clear of them as a result. You don't need 2 wastegates though, I can tell you that much.

EDIT: Fixed sentence order. Derf.

what you can do is find an air compressor with adjustable output. hook it up to the vacuum line on the internal wastegate and see at what pressure the wastegate opens. if it opens at 9psi, then you're good.

i do believe you can find internal wastegates set to 5psi, i just don't know where to get em. if you can't find one, then you'd have to go and look for an external.

i find 9psi on stock internals with the t25 debatable as some have boosted that or more with minor fuel system tweaks, but not enough to make it a general truth. i think it's doable, i just don't have the experience to back it up. i find the t25 like a small hairdryer. i don't think it's the volume of air that would make it prone to detonation, just more so the heat it produces. if you can get an intercooler, maybe even a little one, and some fuel mods, 9psi shouldn't be too bad on the t25.

just a few things, you can get the DSM pipe with BOV mount attached to it. I'd go with a recirculating valve. I used the RFL with my setup and was able to make it not stall out and such but i did notice an increase in my lower-mid powerband when i changed it to recirculating. this was most likely do to the fact when the valve released the air into the atmopshere the car would run super rich for a few seconds. even when I ripped through gears there was faster pickup when i started to accelerate again in the next gear with the recirculating valve.

i suggest to sell the t-25 and get at least a big t-28. i've learned my lesson with buying turbos. i'll never buy a used turbo again. i buy new and i buy the good stuff. it definitely makes a difference.

any ? feel free to PM me.

If you want to make an AIM chat or something or just hit me up on AIM I'd gladly try to give you slightly more "live" help. Can't answer everything, but I can at least help a bit.

Here is a website that tells how you can lower the boost using the stock wastegate on the t25 turbos http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_boost.html

okay, i read that. if i read it correctly, the wastegate doesn't rely on manifold pressure anymore and relies on the tension of the spring in the wastegate to open at certain boost pressures? that's kinda iffy with me unless someone has tried this on the t25. its has grounds for working and stopping boost at a certain psi, but you may also leak boost down low. a proper wastegate should prevent leaks during spool up. i personally have not really seen this method before. are there a lot of instances where people do this?
