there wouldn't happen to be any stampings on the turbo anywhere that would identify it, would there?

Made in U.K. - GARRETT - Allied Signal (logo)

Found one site that says it's from a 98-02 Saab 9-3 2L (http://www.saabtuning.cz/dilys11.htm)

Another says it's from a 94-> 900 which I believe more (http://www.turbosonline.fr/liste_constructeur.php# )

La famille du turbo est : GAR TB2569

Pour le prix, nous consulter.
Ce turbo ce monte sur : * SAAB 900 16V

well, i am the proud owner of a Garrett TB2569 and it looks like it is a pita. this should be a fun time.

lol thanks andrew. i decided to hit up the saab boards and see what i could find out about it. from what i've read the one flange is truly a t25 but i don't know anything about the other one. might need you to steal some exhaust components from your family vehicles for me. ;-)

I don't think my father or sister would be thrilled about that. The turbine inlet is a standard 4bolt T25, but everything else appears to be different.

since it showed up, is there any reason i can't install my hks type1 turbo timer and set the shut off time to 0 so it doesn't do its true job? reason i ask is that i would like to look at some of the "other" features of the type 1. 0-60, 1/4.

andrew,

you are probably going to be the most knowledgable on this one. i found this link on ebay for a saab o2 housing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-Sa...spagenameZWD1V

considering the goofy flange i have to work with, do you think this would be my best bet?

the more i think about this, the more i'm thinking it might be better to resell this turbo and find something a little more standard. i'm willing to listen to suggestions though. I trust your guys' judgment

get a T-25 of a DSM..
They are the most compatible i think... make sue you get one that dosent require to be bolted up to the intake pipe.
