I was running searches and found one guy that was doing this with his honda i believe, and he said it worked fine. But that was the only person i've heard of that has actually done this.

apparently it doesn't update if i edit the last post....

okay, here's a semi decent question to ask. how does a mechanical oil pressure gauge work? keep in mind i said mechanical, not electrical. oh, and on that same subject, if you can give me an argument for using either, i'm all ears.

Probably the same as electrical, only there's not an external electrical sender.
(Meaning the pressure sensor is probably part of the gauge.)

I'd imagine. I've never seen a mechanical oil pressure gauge though. I have seen PLENTY of mechanical fuel pressure gauges, but most of them are underhood since it's illegal (not to mention ****ing stupid) to run fuel through the firewall on a street car.

Nice. So you're going to run 9psi with that?

i still think i'm going to get an external wastegate and set it lower for now. i know 9 is the absolute upper limit of what stock internals can handle but i don't want to push my luck.

EDIT: i also still haven't confirmed this wastegate is set at 9psi.

yowza. looks like any hopes of an external wastegate is going to have to be pre-turbo. that turbine outlet flange must be a euro thing. i don't think i've ever seen that style on an import for a t-25.

threads on the wastegate? not that i've ever seen. it even has a flange for the wastegate to mount on. i haven't seen one of those either. it seems like a t25, but it's really weird. i'm sure it's just a euro thing.

i guess the threads are just to make it adjustable. it can adjust the tension of the wastegate onto the wastegate flapper. kinda like from the link silkymp posted, but not quite the same purpose. anybody else seen this version of the t25?

that's kinda what i was wondering. so i could basically, in theory, apply my own boost leak in order to keep it under 9psi?

well, as is normal with most things i do, i run into the oddball situation. Yoo Neek!
