IM+TB+Turbo

My question is... The horsepower i might make from the IM and TB with the turbo, is it worth the price? I already have the turbo, but before i spend another $800 on the two, i wanted to know if anyone else had done this and seen any good gains. I would search, but the computers here in iraq are reeeeeaaaaalllll sloooooooowwwww. Thanks for your help!

RPW's new intake manifold + camshaft gives about 15whp or more for NA for a turbo Lancer it would be even more.

I havent recieved my throttle body from rpw yet. but i did install a ported 4g93 manifold and i think, for the price, it is definitely the way to go.

Our t.b. an ported manifold yielded about 10% increase in power. If you are tubo then figure on 10% of a bigger number. But what people have trouble getting their arms around is that the real benefit of such items is the quicker response and better power band! DO IT.

impetus, where did you get the manifold and TB from? did you have to special order it from vision imports?

the throttle body is off a 1g eclipse that i sent to rpw and they bored it out to 63mm and adapted the tps and isc sensors for the 4g94..
I bought the intake manifold from a junkyard and ported it myself.

Why not take the initiave and make your own IM. I would say do your TB yourself but not many people are as lucky as me to have full acess to a full machine shop whenever I want and it takes a little more then a die grinder and patience for that.

Here is my take on all this....

For me, I have a 4G93so I already have the manifold. I ported it out to 60mm and was running an Eclipse 60mm TB. With this and the 2G Eclipse turbo MAS, when I was aspirated, I was running so lean that tthe car would throw a CEL if I didnt adjust the air / fuel ratios. Much more air. Turbocharged, that is all I knew, but I can tell you, the car hauled *****.

Wow. There is such a thing as too big a T.b. That is a perfect example. Going so big will require you to do a bunch of other stuff as well to compensate for the extra air.

That was when I was aspirated. Turbocharged wasnt a problem at all. I think 60 mm for most of our cars, fully streetable, is about the limit I would go.

Even though I have a friend in Trinidad, running a 4G92 SOHC, and he has a 67 mm TB and IM and was running mid to low 13s on stock internals.

I have an upgraded fuel pump, fpr and emanage to support the air flow, and I already had the 1g tb laying around so I just decided to go with it.
Cams would be nice but I havent gotten there yet.
