it is my opinion. but if youre really into racing, and take it that serious, you should buy a car w/ ***** from the factory.
wow....lol.....

why havn't more people caught on? -money
why do we drive lancers? -money
whats the percentage of people who seriously race any type of car, fast or not? -nearly none of them
conclusion: modding cars is fun, lancers or not

I agree with what you said though, there is no way anyone who is serious about racing would buy a lancer (unless they truly want to do something different or exciting). the point is though, not many are serious about racing. it is really cool to see people with slow cars like lancers who can go to the track and hang with stock fast cars. It's just for fun, and isn't that the point?

I've seen all these comments numerous times and they still bug me. The reason being is because the list is never ending. A guy who has a corvette, ferrari, etc. can tell that to people below them. So where does the argument end? The fastest stock car?
I think ppl should just get over cost and let ppl. work on their cars just for enthusiast sake. Not because it is just plane fast but, because it was way faster than it was stock.

i don't know, or we can just bash the lancer just for the hell of it because it sucks? right?

well to add my $0.02, i don't think there is any way a stage 2 turbo lancer will go even a stock srt-4...2 of my friends have srt-4's and they are pretty fast....whoever said above that an srt-4 will "keep up with an evofroma roll" is wrong, they will pass an evo from a roll...from a standstill the evo will get the lead cuz of awd, but when already rolling (say 20mph) the srt-4 pulls on it all day...i have seen this myself, as well as seen it walk an STI.

on a side note, i will hopefully have my 16g6 turbo project running in a month and can race both of my friends in their srt-4s and let you know what happens if it makes everyone feel better... then again, i will be doing some internals and other stuff and hopefully be running between 10-14psi so perhaps not a fair judgement since i think it will have slightly higher #'s then the RRM stage 2

definitely don't agree with the whole "if you want a fast car, buy a fast car" attitude...to use an example, a Z06 is just over $100k CDN, whereas a srt-4 is less than $30k...add less than $10k in mods to the srt-4 and it will walk the Z06 ALL DAY! anyway, i think i've said enough for one day!

Call me crazy, but for some odd reason I just don't see an SRT-4 with 10k$ of mods "walking" a corvette. Sure it's a nice and quick car, but it's still FWD, which is horrible for racing. Regardless, who the hell says "well I could win from a roll"? Having a fast car is just as much about being able to use that power as having high HP numbers.

srt-4 11.98 in STL last season. Looked up what a z06 c5 would run and it was 11.6/11.7. If the z06 slips up the srt could win.

evo guys have a hard enough time trying to convince srt4 owners that a stock evo will beat theyre slightly modded cars, same with mustang gt's, camaros, firbirds, STI's, theyre a stubborn group, now we're arguing with one, sad
