going from stage 2 to stage 1
if n e one is wondering im doing this b/c its really cold here and my car jus isnt flowing w/ it, so....heres my question about going from stage 2 turbo to stage 1...
has n e one done this??
im havin a issue w/ the injectors...
this is what one of the mechanics told me on the phone
...on the intake side, (of the rail im guessing) the injectors are sitting loose, he thinks i might need new seals, hes not sure if they'll seed.
Anyone knows what the hell hes talkin about cause i dont....n e solutions to fix this??
Anyone encounter this......
Also, the mas restrictor plate, i dont have that n e more, i need to plug that whole, what should i use in place of it.

If your injectors aren't sitting quite right, you probably need new seals. They are the rubber grommet-type rings that create an air tight seal between the injectors and the rail/manifold. You can get new ones at most parts stores such as Autozone, Pepboys, etc. As far as the restrictor plate on the MAS, I don't see why you would necessarily need that to go back to stage 1. It should still run fine without that plate, but if you do need another one, good luck finding it because I don't think you can get just that plate without getting a whole new MAS.
Instead of going back to stage 1, did you consider possibly getting another type of engine management system and getting it retuned? The pre-programmed piggyback ecu that rrm provides with the stage 2 has been known for its sensitivity to the cold. (although I'm running with the rrm piggy and I havn't had any problems in the cold yet) A guy around my way has a custom built turbo kit on his Lancer and he's using the Apexi S-AFC and it runs great, even on the coldest winter days (it can get pretty cold here). So that's always an option.

I had seals fail on me too. I couldn't tell you why, but it's not pleasant leaking boost AND fuel. Anyway, There really isn't that much of a difference between the stages if I remember right. What exactly are the differences?
