Talking Stage 2+ vs. Evo 8 - Round 1

I just thought I should post some insteresting and exciting news for all our Lancers.

*just a side note, I'm a RRM addict. Whenever a new part comes out I gotta have it*

So with that said, I'm pushing stage 2 w/ mostly all the bolt-ons and I've finally got a chance to install my stage 2 about 2 weeks ago...love it. I keep telling my friends that it's fast as sh*t, and that I swear I could take an EVO. Of course they don't believe me, cuz, it's an EVO...

So, last Sunday after losing some $$$ at the local Casino, I got my chance. I was filling up gas at the Shell and an Evo rolls in. My friend, who was a whitness to the madness, starts egging me on to race him. So after filling up only to a half tank, I sat in my car and waited for him to leave. He must have caught eyes with me or something because he took off from that gas station like a bat outta hell. So... I tried to keep up around the turns of streets and eventually found my way to the freeway.

Lets just say... I pull on an EVO. Not a lot, but still it was fairly easy to pass him. And the only modifications I could see on the EVO was and exhaust.

That shut my friends up for good because one of them has my back. I can't begin to tell you guys how bad a$$ it felt to dominate a car that no one believed I could.

I'll get some *new* track slips and dynos posted up some time but in the meantime that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

You should take your car to the dyno and to the track to really give us some realistic numbers.

A lancer stock rolls around mid low 17s with a average driver, maybe high 16's with a good driver. From that point on you need a whole lot of power and traction to drop down to the 13's to compare to an Evo.

It is too soon to determine but I wouldn't take any credit from you, if you really think you took an Evo then you must be making some crazy power( 300hp plus)

I think you could have bought an Evo if you add up all the parts you bought + your Lancer

depends...i bought my lancer a/t for 10.5k, its an 04. now say if i put 11-12k into my car, id could do catless exhaust, stage 3 turbo and full suspension then technically my car would be lighter than an evo. for another grand i could make it look aesthetically like an evo. dont forget we'd still be lighter than an evo by 200 lbs. it is possible.
