WHat else do i need for this.

Im thinkikng of getting this and I got a stock lancer (engine mod stock) and i was wondering what else i need to put on or in my engine to withstand this, like pistons or anything else. Or for that matter if my lancer engine can even withstand thisturbo kit. im thinking of getting it from roadracemotorsports.com so if you guys know or have one please tell me what i need thanks

The Lancer can DEFINITELY handle this turbokit (In fact... Road Race made it for the Lancer). But u prolly wanna get all the forged internals that u can to withstand the pressure put on the engine by the turbo...

Also gonna move this to Aftermarket/forced induction forums since that's what it is about.

That should be a complete plug and play kit, outside of needing the RRM header ? Dunno what it comes with under the heading of "fuel kit", but you should also have a fuel pressure regulator, bigger injectors, and an AFC to boot.

The forged internals shouldn't be a necessity unless you're running boost in excess of 8 psi or so, but don't take my word on that one.

Check with RRM, but I think the only real requirement is the header, which is a $400 requirement. And like I said, I'm not sure what fuel mods come with it cuz the items I listed are almost necessities, but not technically. It's just real dangerous NOT to have em, you know?

no no no.. this kit is made for the lancer which someone stated. everything that comes with it is all u need. i think it is set at 5psi or 6. if you wanna go higher then you would need to buy more stuff. but i think with intercooler 8 psi os possible. its actually a good kit IMO. you also DONT need the header. it just fits and adds more hp if you want it.

I saw and stated that it's plug and play in my first response. Only questions were about needing a new exhaust manifold and appropriate fuel mods so you don't destroy your engine.

NA exhaust manifold = header (SINGULAR). V's have headerS, we have a header.

Yes, the kit is plug and play. It uses a Vortech FMU for fuel management. The RRM header is not a requirement for the kit, but it may free up additional exhaust flow. You may want to ask boeturbolancer about that because (so far as I know) he's the only one running one on his RRM TC'd car.

YOU NEED AN UPGRADED EXHAUST!!!!! The reason being is that your stock exhaust is too small. You may get boost creep in my opinion. Most people would also agree...even on a stock T/C car (meaning eclipse) it is not recommended turning up the boost on the stock turbo when you have not upgraded your exhaust.
