High Idle, SES light
Ok so i replaced all the vaccum lines today in an attempt to fix this problem but it made no change. I had the car running fine for a week or so and then something strange happened. All of the sudden after maybe a 10 minute drive my idle jumped up to around 1200 rpms and the Service Engine SOon light came on. Now the light is on steady but the idle only goes up after i've driven for a few minutes. When i first start the car and when i drive it within a mile or two the idle is rock solid at 700. Then once the car is fully warmed and hot the idle goes up steady between 1200 and 1500. I thought maybe its because i havent gotten my 2nd radiator fan on yet so maybe the car was getting a little hotter than usual and the engine was comensating with a higher idle to increase coolant flow, but why would the SES light be on from a cold start, shouldnt it pop on once the operating temps come up? I finally picked up my 10" push fan and some water wetter today so i'm going to install those tomorrow, but i dont see how that could make the SES light come on. I dont want to spend the cash on getting the code pulled if its something stupid. Any suggestions? I'm going to install the fans and water wetter tomorrow and reset the ecu (i have to take the battery cable off anyway) so i'm hoping it goes away and never comes back. But it seems weird...
i spent about 1,500 dollars on stupid little issues with my turbo just to find out my turbo's seals were bad in the 1st places. i just gave up on turboing a non turbo car. 3,200 for the turbo 2000 issues and labor costs for install and taking it out. i cant even go to school this year because this turbo went bad on me. im going to send it to rmm when i have then money then have it warrentied or something get the new turbo and sell it. it should be good a snew unless who ever provides rrm with turbo's gives them a faulty one as well.
anyway try recirculating your BOV

BOV is recirculated. SES light is gone. I unhooked the battery cable last night and rehooked it. The idle is still high after a warm drive, now my E-Brake light intermittently goes on and off haha f*cking retarded car. Everything drives fine, the turbo spools up fine, boost is fine, my plugs look like i just took them out of the box even after 100 miles boosting on them. The only thing wrong really is this high idle, and the smoke at startup which is the turbo seals which i'm gonna fix eventually anyway
Are you using rrm turbo components? I see that your using some of their parts, but other than that it looks like you pieced your own kit together. It really hard to say what it could be other than exactly what your explaining it as. There are a few people that have had some problems with a rich idle condition, and the results are much like your explaining. I know that sometimes my car will do that as well, and I have the ses light on. If you have an autozone near you they will check and if you want, erase the code for free, you just have to ask.

Code is gone, like i said now its just randomly my ebrake light came on last night even thought it was totally disengaged. It would flicker on and off a few times. Car has a mind of its own. I dont think i'm running too rich at idle, nothing less than stock (which is rich to begin with). My plugs are pretty clean. A little blackness around the top threads which indicates rich at low rpms but nothing sooty, it doesnt come off on my fingers, it just looks a little glazy and reflective. The insulator jacket is completely white, and the tip and electrode are just about the same color as brand new out of the box, maybe 1 slight shade whiter, but not overly lean looking. I might have a little air seeping out of my custom recirc port which could be causing the problems, but i dont see it being enough air to majorly throw the a/f ratios off. And if it was doing that i would get progressively richer on the top end, which the plugs do not show. Hmm, oh well. I just installed the push fan this morning on the front of the radiator and i threw in a bottle of water wetter. We'll see what it does. I have to take a 25 mile drive today so that will be a good indicator
hey i had brake light on and off while i drove too, especially when u are braking or stopping!!!! i fixed mine by just putting more fluid!! it looked like i had low braking fluid.
