The Road Race Turbo
Here's My Convo with Rob Tallini from Road Race on Turboing a Lancer
This might help people who've been wanting to do this or who haven't already emailed them about doing it.
Around how much power will your turbo kit for the US reg Lancer make?
And I am planning on installing the kit with a buddy of mine so how much time would you estimate on the install when it does come out?
Thanks
Cliff Tinsley
No kit yet only doing installs.. Kit is still in planning stage. We want to do a few more installs first. Make sure it is right! As for boost, 7 psi is about what we are setting up cars at with stock injectors and ignition. Increase around 80 hp at the crank. Depends on a few variables, exhaust... 10 psi is doable with more fuel and engine management aides= $. Right now we don't want to give people enough rope to hang themselves. You understand. Have two waiting to be done now. Price installed is $3600- $3800 with t-28 turbo new and front mount intercooler. Price depends on a few things like how cute, and how much power you want. There are some ideas for cutting costs if you supply turbo, like used T-25 off 2G Eclipse. My price includes new T-28. There are other issues we can discuss over phone. Give us a number to reach you and we can talk.
Thanks Robert Tallini

Ok Rob that sounds good. I was thinking of running 12 PSI with new injectors an AVCR and AFC. With minimal to no internal engine mods
if at all possible. Also a boost gauge and fuel mix gauge and lastly an
oil cooler if needed. I saw the cold air into the Turbo but I like to
romp in puddles every now and then so could the pipe be moved up?
and what about externals I was thinking about Fox Rims or bigger OZ
evolutions for that sleeper look. Is this doable for around say 6K?
Thanks Cliff
Yea sounds close, 12psi sounds like you'll need pistons with oilers though. 10 psi with other mods like down pipe and ccustom exhaust will make **** loads of power. If it was mine I would stop at 10 psi. Give me your number and I'll explain some details. Thanks ROB
