Throttle body

Putting it out to you guys for help. We need a couple of stock throttle bodies. Some of our brothers or sisters must have wrapped their Lancers around a pole by now. Anyone who can find good used T.B. from local wrecking yard can use it as credit on Road/Race big Throttle Body. I have found them for $140-$150. I will give you $150 credit on our T.B. Can't modify them fast enough because of demand and exchange for cores. New ones at dealer $825! Ouch. Appreciate the help, just makes it easier and faster to get them back out to you!

Has to be 2002 Lancer unfortunately. No cross over from other models. $270 is price of bored and matched T.B.

4 mm is safe yet significant bore. With more mods it might be worthwhile to open it larger. I will investigate it further though. Rooster, you are never boring!

Throttle Bodies

RPW is now looking at releasing a 65mm and 70mm throttle body for the 2.0 lancer engines. I beleive standard size for the Lancer is around a 55mm so we can machine them out to 60mm with no problems but will be soon able to provide an outright 65 or 70mm throttle body assembly. Not sure on pricing yet and some small details to sort out.

RPW stuff seems great but overkill and gonna void warranty. I am sticking with basics until I make a payment at least. RRM stuff like T.B. will be hard for dealer guys to spot. I brought car in already. They didn't sweat any of my upgrades.

how long...

I've been thinking of gettting the bored out T.B. and I could send you mine to modify... but what are we looking at as far as turn around times? I have a second car to drive, I just prefer the lancer... And are we still talking the $270?

They send you a bored out one, you install it, then you send them your stock one. You're never without a throttle body.

yes...

yes... I understand that pjal84, but they are saying there is a shortage of T.B. to mod and send out... I don't want to be put on a waiting list or anything... I want it and I want it now... (crying like a little baby.) <GRIN> Seriously though... I trying to make things easier for both sides.

Send us yours and we will do it. About a week turn around. Price is still $270.
I understand not wanting to wait.

Can you talk about the benefits of upgrading the throttle boody?

Is a couple of mm going to make a difference on performance?
